A couple of non league snippets

Just watched Newcastle Jets v Melbourne City (Australian football) at 1-0 up MC a def pen to them. VAR stepped in and said you missed the pen, the ref still said NO pen because he would NOT admit he made a mistake.

F/T 2-1 to Newcastle

EDIT

If you get a chance to see Newcastle's second (I think it was)  fantastic goal. It was one that the scorer back heels it over his head and into the net.

I think it's got to be the Ref who orders a VAR review otherwise it'll be chaos and will also avoid the Ref being undermined.

If they go to the VAR it's got to be the Ref who has the final say.

NO it was the var that told the ref they were looking at it so he stopped the game and said it was a pen but he stuck to the first destitution.

Who said it was a penalty?

Don't forget incidents like penalties are often subjective and therefore the ref IMO has a right to stick to his original decision if he sees fit.

That's one of the problems with VAR when it come to subjective decisions like penalties, one person will say it's a penalty and another will say it isn't.

Stick to the black and white decisions and VAR should be a great benefit to the game.

Today's game was of course our last ever in the Southern League Whatever happens this coming Wednesday and hopefully the following Monday we can look forward to a lot of new teams to watch and new grounds to visit wherever we end up

Well whatever he’s doing let’s hope it disrupts the team, spirit, organisation for Wednesday!

Possibly, but it didn't seem to affect Kings Lynn.

Players of all the promoted teams have fought hard all season for this moment of glory so personally don't think it will matter one jot what the manager say's about next season.

According to Richie Jeune Kettering's chairman Marcus Law has notified him of his attention to quit since he feels he hasn't achieved the continuity he wanted/expected this season

Adrian, where did you find that information?

On Richie Jeune, he resigned as Chairman at the end of last season and is now sole owner and a director of the club.

RR I knew Jeune had announced his intention to resign and that he had appointed a chairman elect ( Mahoney I think is the name) Since his main residence is in Hong Kong but do owners ever step down in reality? I notice Marcus Law has now said that supporters can put him to the sword if he doesn't get promotion this season but asks for everyone to rally round for the last few games

Have you seen IT Listened to the commentators, looked at it in real time / slow motion. The VAR is there to tell the ref if he has done an error they did and he wouldn't admit that he made an error

As I said if the Ref looks at the VAR and still thinks his decision is correct then so be it.

Watching replays on TV dozens of times how often do you still hear pundits disagreeing if it was hand ball or a foul in the area?

They are more often than not subjective decisions.
