In the Vanarama North Gainsborough Trinity are now confirmed as being relegated.

Incredibly Gainsborough were 2-0 up and blew it 3-2.

In the South section it looks to be between Hungerford and Poole as to who goes down. Two games to go and Poole are two points behind Hungerford.

It will be disappointing if the relegation battle this season is decided by Gosport’s 7-0 win at home to a Frome side where the Manager and many players have left & who apparently only fielded 10 players.

This is a Gosport side who went in to this match only having won 2 of their previous 43 matches, had a goal difference of -114, lost at home to Kettering 7-0 on Tuesday, and had only scored five goals in the previous nine matches...... and a Frome side who are mid-table and won 4-3 at Merthyr at the beginning of April.

But this result has enabled Gosport to leapfrog Dunstable, who are now in the relegation zone.

What might actually prevent a farce here is that Dunstable’s remaining matches are at home to Gosport & away to Frome..... but I would be very surprised if Frome field 10 players and a side so weak they get beat 7-0 at home to Dunstable.

I have no personal preference whether Gosport or Dunstable get relegated, and I hope their match against each other on Thursday resolves this matter, rather than their results against Frome.

Culverhouse officially gone.

What a strange time to do it?

On the eve of the play offs and possible promotion, you would have thoght Ian Culverhouse out of respect for the club and the Kings Lynn fans, could of said nothing till after the play off games.

Seems him and the Kings Lynn chairman don't get on but to me that's no excuse to put the fly in the ointment at such a crucial time.

Really liked what I saw of Kings Lynn, shame that's going to be broken up. One bonus maybe, is if we have to play them in the play off, they may not have the heart for it now and could be at sixes and sevens. Well let's hope so !  :)

Terry Brown stepping down a manager of Basingstoke to become their Director of Football.

Players next season are to continue as a mixture of full-time and part-time.

Thought they didn't have any money?

As Jafooley says, ridiculous in non-league to have a director of football. Sounds like money for old rope and a fiddle somewhere.

Can understand a chairman using a part time advisor/football consultant to oversee what the team manager is doing. Not to meddle in first team affairs but to offer advice to the chairman on football related matters, and the course the manager is taking but a DoF just seems barking mad at our level.

Director of Football - is a highfaluting title and going to cost more money than a manager.

Sounds absolutely barmy for Basingstoke, unless Terry Brown is going to be putting his hard earned cash back into the club.

Full time players will be youngsters who are available to train day time and evenings coupled with older more experienced players who will be available to train in the evenings.

So although full time in name they will not be getting paid full time money.
