It turns out not to be entirely true..... they advised the Southern Premier League the third goalkeeper they had signed was in Poland (he says he has never been to Poland and was in Bedfordshire!!).

I would be surprised if they get permission to sign another goalkeeper, and will probably have to count on one of their other two goalkeepers recovering from injury.

Just watched part of an interview with Glen Tamplin on the Ricay twitter feed.

 

He say's he demands results from his players because he pay's them Man City wages i.e. 25k a week and say's some of their opponents in the Bostik premier are paying their players 2k a week.

He's also being being investigated by police for issuing threats to kill a player and family members after he tried to cancel a £4000 a month contract and the player refused.

If he's referring to the weekly budget for the whole squad he is probably right...... £25k a week for a squad at our level would comparative to other teams in the league in Man City wages (i.e. 10 times more than some of the other clubs they are competing with).

Where’s Old Ram when you need him! Curious to how they’re doing so well this season? I know there’s a new Chairman/board, are they paying out silly money as they obviously don’t generate much income. Or maybe it’s judt down to great management and putting together a hungry together team? Shame their name change appears to have done nothing to bring in the crowds especially when they’re doing so well.

Biggleswade still having goalkeeper issues with Craig Daniel (captain and outfield player) having to put the gloves on again today...... they got a 1-1 draw at Banbury though!!

Hopefully they still have no goalkeeper on Tuesday although they’ve managed 2 draws so either the stand in goalie is having a blinder or they’re playing very defensively/10 behind the ball.

Frome manager quits along with their keeper and top scorer and with only one sub get stuffed 5-1 by Hitchin.

Mendy could have achieved so much more shame for whatever reason he didn’t. But he’s obviously deadly at that level and I’m sure could do a job at our level too.

Mendy is undoubted proof that if you want to make it as high as you can in football you need more than just talent.

I’ve heard the stories and rumours but without knowing first hand you can’t always believe everything. He’ll no doubt be courted this summer if he gets promotion.

Agree it was a bad injury and fair play to him for playing again but TBH not sure if Lee Barney didn't help himself in his recovery/rehabilitation.
