Didn't they win the league and 'treble' a few seasons back and still very few turned up?

 

Some places are just not football towns and Beaconsfield is one of them.

 

I think they are more Hockey, Rugby and Cricket.

Interesting to read the match report of Basingstoke's excellent 3-1 win against Hereford.

 

Seems Hereford didn't take their chances and were made to pay by some clinical counter attacking from B'stoke.

 

Stokes main architect was Sam Smart who, due to injury, started on the bench against us.

Tweet from the club saying about a new signing announcement later. Given that Neil liked the tweet from Scott Davies leaving Chelmsford and the speculation on here, it certainly would point to him.

I noticed Neil and Jon ‘liked’ his tweet but obviously that doesn’t mean he’s signing. Although he’s a creative midfielder who has league experience. If you believe all tweets it seems a few accuse him of being very expensive wages wise and it’s common knowledge he’s had gambling issues in the past but also he’s been clean for a while now. I’d say it’ll be a gamble signing but one that could turn the cards in our favour.

Welcome Scott, hoping his experience and skill will give us that little bit extra. So we now have 4 central midfielders (not including Webb) vying for those central berths which makes great competition. Wonder if the loan signing is still on? I would think it’ll be a defender...

I saw him play a lot 10 years ago when he was part of the Aldershot side promoted to the Football League..... he was a very talented classy young player then, and hopefully class stays with a player forever.

On paper, looks an excellent signing. Haven't seen him play, since when he was at Wealdstone, so will have to wait for proof, to see how good he is now but on a positive his experience and know how, should be a huge boost to our play off ambitions and beyond.
