It seems to me that more and more non-league clubs are suffering budget cuts of late.

This may have something to do with relative safety from relegation, which is not too difficult to avoid this season with only 1 down due to reorganisation of the non-league pyramid. Why spend more money than you need to, especially if promotion is not on your agenda?

Some well known non league strikers are on the move this week, the jorneyman Jefferson Louis has signed for Ckesham from Banbury.

Ex - Farnborough striker, of late at Thurrock, Dennis Oli has signed for Kingstonian,  and prolific 30 year old David Pratt has signed for a fee from Chippenham to Wealdstone.

Also, according to the Chippenham Chairman, Wealdstone tempted David Pratt away by more than doubling his wages.

 

If Pratt lives somewhere down Wiltshire way that will be some journey for training and matches.

Would be interesting to see where he does live/work as that’s a good 2 hour journey if he lives around Chippenham. An educated guess would say he was on around £250 at Chippenham so if he’s doubling that then maybe that journey makes it all worthwhile?

A couple of excellent scoring feats today for 2 strikers from our division that are worth a mention:

 

Sam Argent who recently signed for Basingstoke from Hartley Wintney scored 5 and Baghdadi who scored 4 for Dorchester.

According to one of the new owners they will up the playing budget to avoid relegation but no indication as to how much.

Hereford FC have announced a deal with the Council who own Edgar Street which means they can stay until at least 2030

In the likely event that Hereford will not lose today at Merthyr that will mean that they haven't been beaten in 50 consecutive away league games over several seasons!! The next team to try to end that run? Slough Town in our 6 pointer on Jan 6th Now there's an incentive!
