A couple of non league snippets

Burnham lost again today 0-1. Their attendance today was 38. Never realised their attendances were down to that bad.

Not helping with Slough and Maidenhead's success attracting fans but Burnham are now getting less than Holyport !

I wonder whether their reprieve to stay in the Hellenic has backfired,as they clearly aren't able to attract even so so players of Hellenic Premier division standards and Mark Betts is struggling to turn around their fortunes.

Certainly got a mountain to climb now, given the predicament they are in.

I think Burnham could be heading for the wall at this rate. Certainly a shame to see.

I thought Burnham managed their first league win on Monday.

They did indeed get first league win of the season midweek. Yesterday was only some sort of cup game as well. Hardly a priority in their situation

Mr Rebel, I didn't realise it was a cup game but I think a win in a cup match can boost a team's confidence for their league form and currently Burnham need to turn their abysmal form around, otherwise they will be facing relegation again.

With crowds of 38, Burnham won't be attracting outside investment with that piddling figure. As has been discussed previously on here a good while ago, Burnham have been mis-managed by their board of directors for a number of seasons and this season for whatever reason,it has been another nightmare for them.

Windsor FC appears to be the role model that Burnham were hoping to copy, and on a footballing front results can be turned around quickly, once Mark Betts has found the right fit in terms of player recruitment etc but it's  now an even bigger hill to climb, given the way they've started the season.

I hope they can push up the table but only time will tell if they can under this format.

Well they’re certainly throwing money at it this season especially with those two who will command 4 figures jointly (who knows maybe separately...). Holt hasn’t played much this year and obviously won’t have pace but his presence and experience could be vital for them, time will tell.

There always seem to be a few clubs in each league that manage to find stupid amounts of money to try to buy a promotion..... which is why any sensibly run club can only realistically have a target of making the play-offs.

You're right Curtis, but many a club, including Slough in the past, have paid silly money on ex pros only to find that they are way past their sell by date and only after a quick buck.

Mark Betts has left Burnham and Alan Paris has taken his role (has he done anything similar recently?). A Lee Ebden has taken over as Chairman, seems he been around a bit and was last manager at Market Drayton and has been a ‘consultant’, general manager plus a few other titles...
