Heard it from a good source at work that Tarpey needed 1,500 a week to compensate for his loss of income from work.

Of course Barnet are full time! He turned down a few clubs because the wages offered didn't exceed what his full time job plus what Maidenhead paid him. So obviously Barnet have exceeded that and it's an easy move with no relocation hassle added.

A 7 day approach by Wealdstone for another Hungerford player Stephane Ngamvoulou, was waived due to the approach being leaked in a Newbury newspaper. No surprise that the player has now joined Wealdstone.

Hitchin have just been beaten by Haringey Borough on penalties in the FA Cup

Hitchin certainly aren't the force they have been in the last few seasons, looks like mid table this season. Not kept track of all their ins and outs but know they've lost at least 3 of their best players which is obviously having a major effect.

FAQ1 - Hayes and Yeading Utd FC beat Maldon & Tiptree FC 4-3 in extra time tonight. Scoring (Hayes first) 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1 (HT); 3-2, 3-3 (FT);  

H&Y got the winner with about 10 minutes of extra time to be played. Gurkan Gokam came on as sub. As the HANDY supporters were saying - get out the passports, we're in Europe now! (away to FC Romania in Q2). In truth pretty poor fare in my opinion.

After easily beating Hartley Whitney in a pre season friendly and also scoring 13 goals in two matches all the Basingstoke fans were joking about how easily they would win the FA Cup tie this weekend. However after two Paul Hodges in the first game Hartley Whitney earned a replay which tonight they won and will march on to the next round at Basingstokes expense. It wasn't long ago that their were 3 leagues between the two teams but now with HW being just one promotion away from meeting Basingstoke in league matches.
