A couple of non league snippets

No resignings for us may be a blessing in disguise. I believe we tried to keep 6 of last year's squad. Two (Young's and Blake) followed Andy Leese to Enfield for a lot more ££££, Wadkins to Slough, Crilley and Pearce have both stepped up to Conference South (both could be back as they don't look like getting in at their new clubs) and former Slough boy Adam Martin has earned himself a nice long ban for a red card after the last whistle of our last game last year, he'll probably end up at Enfield as well.

Chance to clear the squad out and bring some talented young players in and make a fresh go at the play offs.

Can't see Chesham challenging for the play offs this season. To be honest, CUFC General, I think you will be hard pushed to make it to mid table.

Tough ask to change the whole squad, with a fairly inexperienced manager at the helm, and expect miracles to happen.

I think Chesham have made five to six quality signings but to me quite a few of the rest are makeweights. I'm expecting a lot of changes along the way for your team this season, before you start getting the blend right.

Your management team might not even survive, if results turn out to be poor.

Anyway good luck for the season whatever, as long as Slough stuff your side for the maximum 6 points ! ha ha !

Looks like Steve Bateman's forner Rebels sidekick, John Lawford, is stepping up from Chesham's under 18 team to being a forwards coach for Chesham's first team.

Despite being offered a new contract by Lincoln City striker Adam Marriott has decided to join Royston Town.

The last time he played at this level was 4 seasons ago when he scored 45 goals in 42 games for Cambridge City.

Who said Hereford were the team with all the money?

Farnborough did lose quite a few important players and the team were not hugely impressive last year.

Didn't see Farnborough play last season so no idea how un-impressive they were but to go on and win the play-offs was no mean achievement.

Yes they might have lost a few good players but equally their new signings look to be pretty good.

Farnborough have just announced some impressive signings including getting Jamie Cureton back from St Albans on a one year deal.

Impressive career, and he might make an impact in our league...... but he's 42 at the end of August, and I don't think I would have taken the risk of paying what must be a fair wedge to him on a one year contract.

He did OK when he was at Farnborough last season and have welcomed him back even though they reportedly have a small-ish budget.
