Kettering have signed Lindon Meikle....... the name might ring a bell amongst some of our fans as he played against us for for Mansfield in the two FA Cup matches in the 2012-3 season.

He was one of their better players in the replay match. Technically very good.

Lindon Meikle is a very good signing for Kettering and IMO along some other very good signings puts Kettering as one of the favourites to win the Southern Premier.

I prefer Slough to be underdogs !

The way some fans are saying, what with Hereford, Kettering, Banbury etc, Slough might as well not bother !

ha ha !

I see it that we will give them a good game, whoever they are.

Just a small snippet - I was at the Burnham v Harrow PSF tonight. Burnham fielded a youthful looking side in the first half including some ex -Slough youth team. Harrow lead 2-0 at half time and then Burnham brought on some older looking players. However the 2nd half didn't last very long the game being sensibly abandoned due to the storm conditions.

I expect Stony is still getting match fit after injuries from last season and game was nothing to write about.

We look a better side than Hungerford but as we all know its just pre season.

Last year Marine beat Frome 3 nil and I said they were nothing special but but had a very good season we have trouble beating them.

Marine play Banbury pre season.

Hungerford have shown over the last few years its not all about playing attractive football but being a hard team to beat that brings success we could not even score against them.

Funniest part of the evening I thought I was talking to Marine supporters and asking what size crowd they had v Hereford but Hungerford supporter piped up with we got 400 against Ebsfleet Wow we.

I believe they only got 900 v Maidenhead.

RD, att. Hungerford v Maidenhead 724, I was there! Fair to say that they are punching miles above their weight, Ground is poor and would need to be upgraded yet again to allow for a further promotion. They have, I believe, now upgraded suitable for National South, which at the time of my visit they had not.
