Be rather ironic if after all these years of wanting Maidenhead down, we actually ended up going down ourselves and still didn't get the derby.

You're absolutely right; I still don't get our obsession with Maidenhead or why we're treated to goal updates from Maidenhead games in the Rebels Radio comments.

We should focus on how we're getting on before we worry about sides in other divisions.

Most of you on this forum probably aren't old enough to remember the rivalry with Maidenhead, but since I am, I can assure everyone that it was as big as the slightly more recent rivalry with Wycombe. Since those days, however, generations of younger people wouldn't be aware of it's existence.

Indeed. It was always the principal local rivalry after Wycombe were elected to the isthmian League. It was spiced up by the then relative frequency with which players moved from one club to the other (because, of course, in those amateur days of which town's shops their wives preferrred). Much of Maidenhead's success in the early/mid 60's was based on players who had moved there from Slough and the roles were reversed somewhat from the latter part of the 60's. Our "ascendancy"lasted for around 35 years but since then the pendulum has swung back the other way. But it would be nice to at least catch up again.

Great to see Matty Stevens is having a good season (16 goals in 32 league matches), and helping Wimbledon with a strong challenge for promotion to League One.

I would agree, probably one of the best strikers we have seen at the club in the last 10 years….. only with us for a short loan period 6 seasons ago but scored 6 goals in 9 league appearances, and played a big part in getting us to the second round of the FA Cup against Gillingham.

Can't understand why you say that Glenn he's class as is Johnny Goddard Class will keep us up

I’m saying he’s over hyped but some. Yes he was great in many instances but also missing in a few and did like a sulk! Plus there were other non football matters which led to his departure.
