A couple of non league snippets

Does anybody know what has lead to Enfield’s change of fortunes & 14 points from their last six league matches?

It appears that Sam Young’s has scored 10 goals in his last nine matches for them….. but has he hit great form or is he getting vastly improved service?

The consensus on their social media is that the manager recently changed tactics from ultra defensive with just 1 up front to at least 2 and encouraged pushing forward more

Sam Youngs is currently injured

Maidenhead beat 4th placed Oldham 0-1 tonight looks like they might stay up again

Too close to call.

Ebbsfleet are definitely down and very possibly Boston.

That leaves two from about half a dozen clubs which includes Wealdstone, M'head and Aldershot who are in free fall.

Leon makes his first start for Southend and they win 2-1 at home Aldershot.

And according to their forum Leon had an impressive debut.

Results went against Maidenhead today & they are now in the relegation zone.

Please, not Aldershot, their fans are awful. It would be like Millwall invading the town as in the 80s!

When did you last experience Aldershot fans?

Would love Maidenhead and Aldershot relegated, what two big matches they’d be.

Its not looking great for Maidenhead, but they will inevitably nick a couple of 1-0s when desperately needed as they did recently. I thought they would back that up with a win and draw from the last 2 home games, but they didn't!

Away to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday 😀 another top side. Depending on that result, we may be increasingly confident of a Berkshire derby again.

Provided we stay up.

If offered a Faustian pact today that they could stay up if we did, I might be tempted to take it.

I would have thought it would be very difficult for Premier League clubs to make a strong & valid case for the scrapping of FA Cup replays on account of fixture congestion.

These are the same teams who are desperate to get into the ever-expanding European competitions and all the fixtures and travelling that entails.

These are the same teams who are more than happy to jet off on tours of Asia or the USA to play Mickey Mouse pre-season tournaments like the Asia Cup.

These are the same teams who are so tired of the fixture schedule, and whose players are so desperate for a break, they've organised a post-season friendly in Australia for 22nd May, less than a week after the season ends. (https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/pfa-newcastle-tottenham-australia-friendly-32432078).

Then of course there's the Euro's this summer!

It's obvious what is considered lucrative, and what is considered an inconvenience.

Man Utd are taking the piss by showing what a relief to the fixture list scrapping FA Cup replays have been: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn89yp78w93o. Stuff the little teams!

Be rather ironic if after all these years of wanting Maidenhead down, we actually ended up going down ourselves and still didn't get the derby.
