Ian
I did an exercise last night to understand the travel implications for the forthcoming season. Using Holloways Park as the base, in Division 1 Central the average distance to away games was 32 miles with the lowest as zero (SYCOB) and the highest 83 (Rugby Town). Contrast that with the Southern Premier where we have 9 trips longer than Rugby Town and an overall average of 85 miles. Next season we have 8 trips in excess of 100 miles with 2 of those in excess of 200 (Bideford at 203 miles and Truro at a whopping 268). Let’s hope that’s not a Tuesday night! What it highlights is how important raising additional funds will be to cover those traveling expenses.
Windsor Rebel
I will be organising a few stop overs/pub visits for those interested, notably Truro (been there before excellent place), Bideford, Dorchester, Poole and Weymouth.
SloughRebelBoy
Right, need to knock on my bosses door, time for a pay rise. Seriously, this just goes to show (and confirms), that we now have taken a step up in the ladder (wouldnt have it any other way).
Ian
Talking of away days Phil and I will be planning a Rebel Bikers trip, where the motorcyclists amongst us can take a ride to a game :-)

epicrebel
Ian, I gather your only going one way with your sums. As I make it only 5 ( 1 of them 94 ) under 100 miles.
HorshamRebel
My problem is that from September I will not be working anymore, as I will be moving back to Slough to become a full time carer for my mum

All distances are one way so round trips go from an average of 64 to 170 miles.
Ian
Sounds good to me Ian, as you know I do a few aways by bike already. The plan would be to pick a decent away game, plan a route that takes in some good biking roads, head out early and make a day of it with lunch in a pub somewhere before getting to the game :-) We thought about it last year but the fixtures in the good weather would have taken us to somewhere like Uxbridge! Hardly appealing!!!
HorshamRebel
From my mum's in Slough it comes out at 4005 miles for the season, in total, for league travel.
epicrebel
From my mum's in Slough it comes out at 4005 miles for the season, in total, for league travel. From Beaconsfield it's 4022 so for me it's another 161 on top of that. And another 410 with the friendlies added. So so far it'll be 4593 without any cup games bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!
