Rather than pages on the 'retained players' thread, thought I'd start a new one.

Brilliant news that Adam Foulser is on the mend. Couldn't believe how good he was walking at the presentation evening, let's hope for a speedy full recovery.

Good news with the possible two new acquisitions and that players are approaching the management for pre-season.We may get lucky with these.

Pity Wooz won't be around to start the league programme but least,he's sticking around and will be valuable when needed.

Things moving along nicely.

I think Dan Sintim lives somewhere near Reigate and in the time he was with us seemed to struggle to get to some of the games, especially midweek, which is far from ideal.

Only guessing but I think the idea is to bring in a new central defender and have Wooz as back-up in emergencies until Adam Foulser is fit for selection.

It's a shame Dan Simtim lives too far away, as he had, to his and our manager's credit, fitted seamlessly into our defence, which isn't always the case with a new centre half.

I also thought with his physique,he looked the part which made the opposition wary of him.

Great that players are phoning the club wanting to come down for pre season with us.

Majority of the time most of these players will not be taken on but occasionally a 'nugget' will be found.

I think one player that springs to mind who turned up at Slough because he apparently wrote or spoke to Steve Bateman asking to come down for pre season was Sean Fraser.

I think what we also need to remember is that we have yet to see the best of Jake Parsons, Steve Duff and Gareth Risbridger. If they can get themselves fit they will be like new signings.

A player I like is the young SYCOB midfielder Jack Hutchinson.

Old head on young shoulders, scores goals with plenty of assists.

You been reading the Pitchero SYCOB website again,RR ! lol !

Have you heard something?

I like Nathan Poulton. Wonder where he will play this year? That's if he has gotten over his injury.

He epitomises the type of player Bakes and Unders go for,in that he works hard for the team, gets around the field,is tenacious and plays with spirit and gusto.

Talking of which,is Leigh Rumbold definitely coming back to the Rebels?

On that Jack Hutchinson,I see he is dual registered with Wealdstone, or was.

Gordon Bartlett is great at unearthing talent and taking a chance on someone, whether it would be an experienced ex-professional,a player with great non-league pedigree who's gone off the boil or some fresh faced kid from lower down the pyramid ie Glen Little,Elliot Godfrey,Lewis Putman.

I see he is now after Charlie Strutton, ex AFC Wimbledon,Aldershot and Chalfont St Peter. He's a striker I would have liked to see for Slough.

We missed the boat on him, when he was at Chalfont.

Think he will be a good signing for Wealdstone as he doesn't seem to be a player that has let his achievements go to his head.

I rate Lewis Putman but whether he'll make the grade at Conference South level is a hard one to call.

By the way,he's the player who scored a sublime goal,by beating his marker and hitting a sweet shot right into the corner of the net, past a helpless James Warrington in a Steve Bateman pre-season game against Wealdstone, season before last.

For forwards,it must be frustrating when you bang goals in for fun and get great service at one club, and then you move club and your goals dry up, because team play is different, the supply/set up's are not what you have been used to and any manner of things.

Players that come to mind are Paul Combes and George Friel.

Prolific until they got to Slough!

Jack Hutchinson played lots of games for Northwood and then got the move to Wealdstone where he played a few games and was loaned out to SYCOB to gain experience. At only 19/20 he has been a regular in the SYCOB team scoring and setting up goals from midfield.

Just think he's the young energetic type of player that would be a great aquisition for us.

Matt Miller was another player who banged the goals in for Yeading and then didn't for Slough.

Yes Rummy will be coming back in November, not sure if anyone has been following him, but he has been playing out in the States for Lansing United (worth following on twitter for some video action etc), and recently played in front of just under 4000 people in Detroit.

I asked what the standard was like, and said similar to mid teams in Southern Central.

However it is only a short league season which finishes end of July/early August having started end of April.

However he will come back in peak condition.

Also with Nathan Poulton last I heard he went off travelling for a year, do like him as a player, however believe we will be perfectly catered for in that position this year.

Hope to announce the 2 new signings tomorrow/Monday.

Be interesting to see who the signings are. Guessing one is a central midfielder as we are well covered on the wings already.

Think we have some excellent players in centre midfield but one thing that's probably missing is goals from that area with only five goals between Clurgy, George, Ris and Rummy all last season so wondering if it could be an attacking central midfielder? Also if Wazza got injured we would be struggling for goals from midfield altogether.

Talking of midfielders is Paul Coyne back from his travels? If he is - is he still playing football? He in my opinion would be excellent addition to this squad.

Paul Coyne is an excellent midfield player and a great passer of the ball but his temperament sucks and his ill discipline would be disruptive to team morale and the superb comradeship that Bakes and Unders have built.

As good as Paul Coyne is, I would pass on him. There's plenty of other good midfielders around to choose from and they are not the troublemaker Coyne is.

Have to disagree there. Would take coyne back in a heartbeat.

Your prerogative,DJD. We're have to agree to differ.
