Earlybird season tickets

Epic Rebel, what young supporter has the money to buy a season ticket?

When a young potential fan comes to a game, they need an incentive to come along again.

I think the privilege of playing for Slough youth sides should have some reward,if you come to a game. Also you have the chance of the players bringing their non-playing friends along, who would have to pay full price.

Under the Martin Deaner/Roy Merryweather years The Junior Rebel scheme was excellent as many of my relations used it when young,

I'm a bit ignorant now to what is on offer for infants/juniors/under 16's at the club currently.

Staines Rebel Jr, there is no point wasting money on a ground we don't own, unless Slough Town FC have no options on finding a home of their own.

3spirit it's £15

And they'll bring others with them

so if you let them in for half price and they watch all the games they'll pay £23.

I'll say let everyone in for nothing and let the club go t--- up.

The only monies the club get is from the gate so this would happen.

The admission prices and season ticket prices are not figures plucked out of the sky. There's a lot of thought goes into it, to save the supporter money and make the club money for the season.

Please look at other teams season ticket prices then come and complain about ours.

Think I may have got the wrong end of the stick about the cost of a season ticket for a youth but I still think getting parents to cough up for a junior/youth season ticket is unlikely, being the fickle nature of youngsters, because they may not get the proper use out of it.

Whereas an incentive on single tickets can benefit the club by interesting youngsters to the product that is Slough Town FC as a whole, especially for the future.

I can see both sides of the argument here. Yes we should absolutely be doing all we can to attract younger and any additional supporters. That said, giving out season tickets or vastly reduced season tickets has to be carefully considered as it's one of the few revenue streams we currently have.

As far as I know there's only one or two of the STFC youth lads who are regulars at games (one of which is Alfie) so giving free STs to them wouldn't greatly impact the club. To be honest we'd still volunteer to pay for Alfie's anyway. Giving away heavily discounted STs to their parents however I'd consider a big no. Not only is that a slap in the face to those regular fans who buy STs at full price but the maths could work out that it would be cheaper to enrol a kid in the youth setup just to get a discounted ST for a parent.

Best idea is to offer free STs to the kids within the youth setup knowing that they cannot attend without an adult who would then be required to pay full price on the day. What would be nice to explore is getting one or two of the first team squad down there occasionally to work with the kids

As others have pointed out though, there's no quick fix here and it will take time to really build that affinity wit the club. Whilst the parents stand on the sideline shouting "come on Slough" to most it means very little other than a name and if their kids were playing for Burnham Juniors, Taplow Youth or anyone else they would be shouting for them. That's not to say we shouldn't be exploring all sorts of ways but don't expect kids or parents to instantly consider themselves Rebels just because they wear a Slough Town shirt on a Sunday. This requires some long-term thinking.

That surely is down to Beaconsfield. Remember apart from entrance fees, golden goal and 500 club we don't get bar takings, food or tea takings that all goes to Beaconsfield so I am sure they can sort out and pay for improvement's to their own ground.
