Earlybird season tickets

Recommended Posts

On that front I would give all the youth team players free season tickets and their parents half price season tickets or discounted match day tickets.

The youth set up has over 100 players and we should be doing more to fill that age void we have.

Don't we have a captive audience in our Youth set up?

I know at least five youths, one who is my nephew, that are starting to watch Slough games.Bit sporadic at the moment but it doesn't take a lot to get hooked,as we both know ! :)

Totally agree Tom.

From the outside it looks like we could do a lot more to get our youth set up to a lot more games with special offers etc.

Sorry disagree a lot of the kids with there parents turn up at Farnham Park in there cars get out go to the pitch play the game then jump back into there cars and go. No interest in the club at all.

But it's good to know you'll cover the short fall R/R

Here's a special offer over half price entry but paid before the season starts.

Oh yeh that right there is all ready is one it's called a season ticket.

Which works out less than 66p a game, it's not a lot to ask for.

Doesn't matter whether the parents or kids have no interest, the club shouldn't just give up because of that.

All the kids play under the Slough Town FC club badge and should be treated as such as a result and that includes giving them a season ticket. If it results in a hand full of kids coming along then that's positive.

The first team and under 18  are ours and then there is the youth teams these are Mark Betts where all money goes into Farnham Park.

Mark is finding it hard to get any of them to even to go into the bar there. To help with the funds there.

I myself totally disagree on giving something for nothing,

Then why have them associated with the club if we're not to gain or try gain some advantage from it?

We should be leveraging them to come and use of fact there are 100 kids there, who have friends and family too, that's a captured audience with a potential outreach of people in the hundreds.

I'd wager, in fact I guarantee, the club would get a better return on investment attempting to target them in the long run over any form of press advertisement it would attempt and spend money on.

Great value, but will it generate enough income?

Yes there should be more visiting fans in this better supported league - however the Burnham fans will still find the journey too far!

Burnham don't have fans!

They have people who live in or close to the village who through sheer boredom on a Saturday when Burnham are at home, pop down to the gore to watch a game. On the Saturday's when Burnham are away at distant places like Beaconsfield they prefer to do a bit of housework or go shopping rather than watch Burnham play.

Got to agree with Tom. If you focus on youth team players, their parents and their coaches.......you are much more likely to get groups of fans coming together that stick. It is as much about the gesture as the money they save. You get one enthusiastic player, parent or coaching a team and that could easily translate to 20 fans.

I don't think a free season ticket is the answer but I do agree with the rest of your points.

I think that if you play for a Slough youth team and come along to a first team home game, you should get in half price, whereas if their parents come along, too, they should pay the full price.

Slough Town FC need to be doing their utmost to encourage young supporters. It doesn't matter where Slough play at.

My brother runs one of the youth sides under the Slough Town FC banner and because he's a Slough fan he actively encourages his youth team players to come and watch but of course, not all the kids live in the vicinity[one's from Wycombe!] and also the youth of today have so many other distractions.

However, two of his youth players attended the play-off final and I know several more that came to quite a few of our home games last season.

And we all know once you get the bug,you get hooked !

Small ripples can bring bigger waves...........

Tom, 3spirit,

Tom, The club did do some things from Farnham Park this season, and not alot came of it. Also we tried to do Schools, once we tried it then it all came down to health and safety and insurance.  Mark has been trying to get some of the kids and parents to walk 10 yards ( in some cases ) just to go into the club house at Farnham Park and that is free. So to get them to travel 7 miles ??????????

Tom with the E-Mails from me you can see my point ( added )

3spirit, I started to agree with you then you say about half price.

There is a discount it's called a season ticket ( as I said before ) more than half price,  66p per game.

WE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO LOOK TO INVOLVE THE KID AND ALWAYS WILL.

Hence the £15 season ticket, £2 on match days and the new 16 to under 18 prices.

Didn't Slough use to have a junior rebel club?

How about this , under 16s pay £10 and for that they get a card on their birthday and a photo of their favourite player and also go into a monthly draw where everyone who has say, a November birthday gets entered and the winner is a mascot at 1st December game. Also they get free entry into any home game, league or cup, for the season .

I would guess if you asked a parent of our youth team why they don't buy a season ticket is that they can't /dont want to come to every game so this would be ideal .

Slough could also offer to hold a birthday party, for a fee, to be held at McD's/KFC at the service station and then free entry to the game .

Also on season ticket forms could we ask people to put their occupation down as this club has a large following yet someone who comes to games may work in a job that the club might need to ask for help/opinion on.

I think there are loads of things we can do to attract youngsters to tbe games and all the better if they bring their parents with them. Hopefully playing at a higher level is a good time to start to work on this. The Youth set up is tgr obvious place to start but through other teams, schools, youth groups Etc .Etc.

We may have tried it all before but that shouldn't stop us doing it again and again and looking for new opportunities.

It came as a shock this morning when one of those I consider to be one of our younger supporters pointed out that he had taught some of the local players.

Young supporters are vital to ensure the long term future of the club so we bave to attract them in.

One thing which I think would help to get young supporters to come back it to get cover at the other end at SYCOB.

Most people who come to a non league game are surprised when they see the ground and they expect it to still be bigger and better, so having a completely empty en of the pitch can look bad to new supporters.

Also having the cover at the other end allows us to make noise during both halves of the game which just makes the atmosphere so much better!!!

If we can get more people to join in the singing and then get any new supporters to join us then I am sure they will be much more likely to come back and have good memories.
