3spirit
Being a regular buyer of the Slough programme was wondering if there could be a regular feature of light-hearted questions in a style of meet the player, manager, coach, chairman, board member or even an ordinary fan. Also on the Farnborough forum, a while back, one of their supporters did a regular feature on there, and I would imagine it was for their programme,an article called 'Where are they now?' which basically offered an interview with a Farnborough player of the past. Asking him things like 'What game sticks out in your memory','Best manager you've played under', Best goal you've scored', 'A funny moment during a match or in the changing room' etc. Wondered if something like the above could be done for our programme. Am willing to help,if at all possible.
Ian
We used to have player interviews a few seasons ago which Gary or Warren did I think. They were great and similar now with a new group of players would be good but requires someone to take on the task.

Ian,I would willingly do it but don't want to step on anyone's toes ie it might have to be a bonafide club man, like Gary or Warren or yourself. If I was to do it, I would like to extend it somewhat to what was done previously,as in what I mentioned in the first post. We could have meet the supporter, as well as staff ! ! SloughRebelBoy
Looking through my old STFC programmes from the mid 80s the other evening, used to be a lot thinner and full of mainly advertisement after page after pager, with the exception of managers notes, opposite teams players, league table, fixtures / results mainly. SloughRebelBoy
But we know Hotspur won't turn up, again ;-) What actually happened to him? I read on another thread that he was banned? Is that true or did he just ride off into the sunset?

He was banned but the decision was not taken lightly. He had several warnings before such action took place.

lino
Over the years the programmes have varied from basic team sheets to some that have been almost professional in their make up.Over the years of the many ones I have bought I only kept a few ,the Wembley final, the four Skelmesdale ones, the 2 Dagenham semi final ones and 2 against Wycombe one we won ( F.A. Cup ) and that one we lost in the conference at their place.Still get them out now and again to jog the memory lol.
GarySTFC
It was "Loud Woman" Jenny Green who did the interviews with the players back in the day for the programmes. Whilst the content of the programme has remained of a good standard, the formatting and checking of it needs attention. I bought a programme for the first time in a while for the Rugby game on the Easter weekend and was a little disappointed as to its appearance. However, I do nite we have lost a professional graphic designer as a volunteer for the programme and have been more reliant on "less qualified" folk to keep it going so can understand the transition. Hopefully it can return to its higher overall quality for next season in a higher level.
brighton_rebel
I think Steve Chapman has plans for next seasons programmes but its a relentless job! I used to do the Fans interviews but ran out of hours. I think if anyone could resurrect it and players interviews Steve would be pleased. If someone started now they would build up lots for beginning of the season.
