Had another close look at the teams in the Souther Premier and TBH this looks like a really tough division to compete in.

I agree, on paper looks tough, but maybe, think its because were heading into the 'unknown'.

 

I mean, we spent so many years in the same league, pretty much playing the same sides every season, it felt 'comfortable' as we kind of knew what to expect in terms of stadiums, fans, how the teams play against us.

 

Now were in a new league, new stadiums, further distances, not so familiar with majority of the teams.

I think it'll be like playing the Daventry's, Kettering's ect every week. That sounds tough, but then I look at our results against these sort of teams and it's very good. So I'm optimistic.

 

It's a case of getting the team up for it every week, and I have faith in Jon and Neil to do this.

I think we can be competitive with a lot of the teams in the Southern Prem but to compete in the top half and possibly the play-offs I think we are going to have to step up a level or 2 to compete with the likes of Chesham, Cambridge, Stourbridge etc.

 

Look at the likes of Hemel who have been ploughing a lot of dosh into getting promoted for a few seasons now and only now have made it.

 

Chesham have been banging on the door for a few seasons and still can't do it.

 

Not impossible but a tough ask.

We dropped a lot of points this season to sides who either had poor home pitches, or defended deep against us and counter-attacked...... the pitches in this higher league should be better and suit our style of play, and since we won't be the 'big club' or favourites, I would expect most clubs to come out and play against us rather than sitting back.

Wouldn't call Burnham's pitch good though AND will they be the "big club" against us?

Having been referee and assistant at Burnham recently I can confirm their pitch is worse than most local park ones.

Due to Worksop resigning causing a ripple effect Bedworth are now in the central division instead of Ware which means a good possibility that Hayes and Yeading will be in our division (if their appeal fails) instead of Halesowen or Histon.

Off topic, but epicrebel, that kit shown in your profile was the first Slough Town kit I saw when my dad first took me to Wexham Park. Classic kit. No Slough Town badge, but I remember wanting a replica off it (before the times we had replica kits as fans).
