New Manager at Amersham Town

Press release from Amersham Town

Amersham Town Football Club has appointed Daniel Madden as the first team manager for next season. Daniel will take over after the AGM on 4th June.

Chairman Howard Lambert said, “I’m very pleased that Daniel has accepted the post of manager. There was a strong field of candidates and it was not an easy choice but we felt that Daniels experience and commitment made him the ideal person.”

Current manager Simon Damery, who, at the AGM, is likely to succeed Howard Lambert as chairman, was equally pleased. “We are looking to the long term and I know that Daniel feels the same way. Daniel has been very successful managing a team in the London Commercial League so this is a step up for him but I’m sure he will make a success of it.” he said.

Daniel Madden expressed his delight at the appointment. “It is,” he said, ”pleasing to take on the first team. Amersham Town has excellent facilities and great potential.  I see my task as translating that to success on the pitch. I will be working with Sam Slack who will take charge of a new reserve team and, working with the Under 18s, we are aiming to create a squad capable of making their mark in the Spartan South Midlands League.”

Daniel and Sam will be taking a trial for any players interested in joining Amersham Town at 1.30pm on Sunday 22nd June.  Further details of the club are on the website.
