obis
News reports of another Division being created to sit between League Two and the Conference for "B' teams con't help the non league game, creating another step in the conference.
missunderstood
Another stupid idea by the FA. If the bigger clubs want their fringe or players returning from injury to get some competitive games, whats wrong with loaning them out to smaller clubs and pay their wages like they do now. aka PeteBeatz
Another proposal is to mix the B teams with the Connie and split it in to North and South. Sounds silly but could be good for gates. For example at team like Braintree could get more than there usual 800 if they played B teams like Arsenal or Spurs .
Eastside Urchin
Yeah but at the same token, every non league club would be another league away from league football
Eastside Urchin
If they want to put these b teams in the leagues then why not start at senior level, would actually be to the advantage of many clubs by giving them a payday and would actually be funny to watch spurs bugger up promotion for the first 5-10 years
andydick
Excellent letter from the Sutton chairman to Mr Dyke .. http://suttonunited.proboards.com/thread/5939/open-letter-greg-chairman-fa The petition: http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/the-football-association-say-no-to-b-teams The website: http://www.againstleague3.co.uk/
cup of tea
Tremendous letter and although I do feel that something needs to be done about dealing with home grown talent in this country then why not invest in the non-league infrastructure that already exists? It does seem that the FA are increasingly ignoring anything outside the football league or Premiership and are increasingly pampering to the larger clubs. Also didn't appreciate the little dig about Essex in there as well !
Dagger03
Tp state the obvious - if they want to have a reserve or B league, they can always enter the Football Combination, which has always been a league for reserve teams.
obis
Exactly. If anything it will leas to the top clubs being able to sign even more players and put them in the B team. They could amass 50 or so squad players thereby less for the smaller teams which will have a ripple effect. It's another example of the rich getting richer and extending their muscle. Think Tesco v corner shop.
Fat Tom Daley
Having read the report there are some aspects I would like to see implemented however this 'League 3' and 'B' teams is total nonsense. Once again its only looking out for the premier league big boys and letting lower league teams suffer and killing the non-league game.
