Well let me tell you all something

 

My youngest played in a tournament this morning and was runners up.  My boy missed the penalty that cost his team (he is the keeper) but he was different class the whole tournament.

 

This afternoon I was involved in a charity match to help get a Defib placed at a school we use for our small sided games.

 

It was a really good day when I was proud of one of my sons and of the club I am involved with.

 

Then I get home and find that 2 of the nicest guy I have ever dealt with in non league football have achieved promotion against all the odds and that has just topped off the day.

 

Unders and Bakes take a bow.  Sometimes and just sometimes the good guy does win.

Still in shock after that result. What a brilliant comeback, that was fantastic character from the lads and must have been a great half time team talk from Neil and Jon. I think that's the best feeling I've had as a Slough fan, still buzzing now. Massive well done to all the players and management team, you've done a great job. Can't wait for the new season now.

I really don't believe what I've just seen.

 

Admittedly against a strong swirling wind but we were totally outplayed first half and deservedly went in 2-0 down. To any sane person watching, this game was dead and buried. 

 

Second half saw a total transformation to the Slough team that played first half. We came out fighting, started to create chances and once the first goal went in we always looked likely to score a second and then a third!  

 

Totally surreal and unbelievable comeback from the team. Even now finding it hard to believe what I've seen.

 

Fantastic achievement from the players, Bakes and Unders, supporters and everyone connected with the Rebels.

 

Can't wait for next season in the Southern Premier!

Got to admit I was one of those fans who thought after the 1st half that was it.... After all the play off loses I believed we were destined to lose again. ESP since we are a new team (to slough) but the second half blew me away what ever bakes and unders said worked wonders I was squashed between 2 Kettering fans and I don't think they appreciated my screaming on the 1st 2nd and the 3rd goal! But wow we're they great moments as soon as we got that 1st I thought they are coming back we're gonna make it hard for them!!! Great result and can't believe we have finally been promoted! The lads, fans, management and most of all Steve and Dave really deserve this!!! COYR

Truly astonishing stuff! Well done players, managers, our excellent chairman and all those who travelled the 80 odd miles to witness this win. Interestingly we were relegated at Chesham on 5/5/2001, so on this day we are promoted back and will be reunited with the Generals after they lost their play off final today.

Not wanting to single anyone out,as all the players deserve credit for that brilliant win but I thought Guy Hollis had a great game today and he doesn't often get the plaudits.

So I thought I'd just mention his sterling effort,which is a change to the usual favourites.

What a great shame that our leader Chris Sliski is not here to have seen what our fabulous team have done this season and especially this week against two big quality teams in non league football in Rugby and Kettering.

But i bet where ever he is he is shouting and jumping for joy.

I haven't managed to get to a Slough game since the Rebels stopped playing in Windsor, as I have never had the money to travel to Beconsfield. I spend a lot of my time working at Didcot Railway Centre as a volunteer. But I have always supported Slough Town FC. This is  a fantastic result, as good as or better when we won the League title on the last day of the season in 1990, to gain promotion to the Conference. Congratulations to the management, team and of course the supporters. What a fantastic effort         :D

at half time i never lost the faith i was telling rr and anyone who would listen that we were making it a speciality in doing things the hard way, and we were getting a habit of scoring three in the second half ( sort of tongue in cheek) then my god mavis they only went and done it. looking forward to hunting for the balls on the m40 next season but not just any balls they are premiership balls.
