Tickets for Monday

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard anything about ticket sales for Monday???

I don't think it's an all ticket match but I notice that Lowestoft are selling tickets tomorrow.

Their Capacity is 2850 and I doubt they will get that but surely if they are selling tickets we should be given the option too.

Surely it's a bit of a risk to go up there without tickets??

From their website ... I've highlighted the important bit !

"The play-off final on Bank Holiday Monday between Lowestoft Town and Hornchurch will not be an all ticket match but pre-sale tickets can be obtained.

Pre-sale tickets will be on sale at Lowestoft Town Social Club this Saturday (3rd May 2014) between 11am and 2pm.
Please note that the game is not ticket only and entry can be obtained on the day by paying at the turnstiles, subject to availability.

The prices for the match are as follows:-
Adults - £10
Student & OAP - £8
Child (U16) - £2

*This is classed as an 'all paying' cup game and therefore season tickets do not apply*

Gates will open at 12pm, including all catering facilities.

See you all on Monday!

Terry Bullen"

Agree though, if they think there's any chance they might sell out then they should be reserving a batch or providing us with enough to accommodate our travelling support.

Just dug out the report from their final last year, home to Concord Rangers, and the attendance was 2,490 so it's a little close for comfort for any late arrivals.

Don't worry folks, assuming you make it to the ground in time, you'll get in.

The problem with the ground is they only have two turnstiles, and if everyone was to pitch-up looking to pay in cash with 15 only minutes prior to KO, then the queue would be a problem.

The ground can hold more than the 2850 capacity so don't worry on that front. Anyone looking for parking, there's a public car park about 200 meters from the ground (down the hill towards the town centre) and that will be FOC on a bank holiday, alternatively, you can park in the staff car park at Hoseasons which is just around the corner from the ground.

I can't comment on the A12 roadworks, but as soon as you get north of Ipswich, it's a bugger at the best of times.

I thought a capacity was set in stone and if broken would result in a naughty smacked bum

Maybe in all-seated stadia, but I doubt that capacities can be cast in stone when the ground has grass verges and someone on the fiddle at the turnstiles.

Seemingly, at last season's final at Hemel (in whatever league they were in at the time) the 'official' attendance was about 3000 punters short of what was actually in the ground (estimates were 6000 folks in attendance).

Getting served at the bar should be one's biggest concern - not getting in.

On a serious note, I see that your coaches are booked to leave at 10am - far be it for me to tell you how to arrange your travel plans (and it's probably a bit late in the day to do anything about it now) but you should have left an hour earlier if the A12 problems are true.

You'll also be guaranteed to hit traffic prior to the Southwold exit (2nd homers and beach-hut nutters) and getting that far early doors would have been prudent (also decent eats and drinks to be had in those parts) and the thought of you lads being stuck isn't really worth thinking about.

Get your arses into the vicinity ASAP and have a beer in the neighbouring towns/villages and make a leisurely trip to the ground with time on your side, as an hours delay (which is the norm) on the A12 scuppers that plan.

Thanks for all the helpfull information Plunstead Blue, as we will be driving there i noted you mention Hoseasons staff car park, i know its a bank holiday but will this still be available to the public?

Was also looking at the college, is there parking available there? and are there any nice watering holes near the college you know about, any with some nice grub would be a bonus

Thanks

Parking isn't a problem. Hoseasons will be open, there's also parking by the college and there's a pay and display at the foot of Raglan Street that should be FoC on Monday.

Watering holes that serve decent food are like hens teeth, I'm afraid. I normally stop-off at Southwold and eat and drink there. Lowestoft is only 20 minutes away and there's a number of decent pubs and a couple of good value restaurants. Adnams brewery is based there and they have a couple of flagship pubs that are more than decent. With it being a bank holiday, I'd suggest getting there early, especially if the weather is decent.

The Triangle Tavern is probably the best boozer in Lowestoft for ales (and is close to the ground), but I wouldn't want to eat there.

The best pub in town is the Stanford Arms (North Suffolk CAMRA pub of the year). It's less than 5 mins from the ground.

There are roadworks at Blythburgh but the last two weekends work has been stopped over the weekend.
