SSML Cockfosters P-P Holmer Green

My first 'p-p' in 3 seasons (fortunately it only involved a 200 yard walk). Started hammering it down at about 6:40 & at least 5 areas of standing water on the pitch (& still raining hard) when I got there @ 7:40 - no complaints at decision. Fitting that the Chalk Lane pitch should have the last say on 'Fosters season - no realistic chance of this game being played unless the season is further extended.

They can play this Saturday with a 7:45pm kick off.

Problem solved!

Thursday 1st May – Kick Off 7.45pm unless stated

DIVISION ONE

Southall v Risborough Rangers

Will be at this one Southall FC need a win big time.

Southall 0 Risborough Rangers 0

Southall played some really good football at times yesterday but when they got in or around the penalty area they seemed to run out of idea's and lose the ball or give it away. Yesterday was the perfect conditions to have some long rang shoots and test the keeper as the pitch was very slippery but none of the Southall players wanted to shot they just kept trying to pass it one more time. A Southall player did shot from outside the penalty area in the second half and hit the crossbar.

Southall cant buy a goal at the moment.

Must say Risborough Rangers bought a good amount of supporters with them in a mini bus and they were a very nice bunch of people.

DIVISION ONE

7-0 Crawley Green v Amersham Town

If Crawley Green had any signs of tiredness after their hectic end-of-season schedule, they certainly didn't show them as they tore into their hapless visitors from the start, going 4-0 up after half an hour with their third a free kick that Amersham's keeper could only helplessly watch flash past him. Amersham were allowed short periods with the ball, but found it next to impossible to do anything with it as the hosts' superiority carried on through the second half.

Few probs last night - the game kicked off 10 minutes late as one of the linesmen and Amersham squad were late and also the weather and Debbie's slimming Club forced Mike Hyde et al into the Viceroy Bar which I discovered after gatecrashing a Chiltern Youth League committee meeting.

I did wonder what all the adulation for "Reidy" (thought they were saying Greedy) was for. B)

Stotfold reach their 3rd cup final with a superb 4-2 win at Oxhey Jets in the SSML Floodlight Cup. 20 games in 7 weeks.

3 cup finals reached and moved well clear of relegation too!

By my recollection. That will be Stotfold VS Cockfosters in both the Challenge trophy and the Floodlit cup!

Is that right Karen??

Haha. Yeah he has a few nicknames, one of them being 'Greedy'. We gave him the arm band and let him have the pen for his hatrick but in truth he's one of those lads you don't want to score because he doesn't stop talking about it.

DIVISION ONE

7-0 Crawley Green v Amersham Town

A report from another Forum:

South Midlands Division 1

CRAWLEY GREEN 7-0 AMERSHAM TOWN

Usual expenses

The rain yesterday evening did not bode well but as I pulled into the car park, the gateman was in position and shortly afterwards the floodlights burst into life. GAME ON!

After ten minutes, I bit the bullet only to discover the gateman had disappeared and most of the cars were to do with Debbie's twice-weekly slimming club in the main bar area. Having rather embarrassingly gatecrashed a Chiltern Youth League Committee meeting in the President's suite at the back of the stand, readies were exchanged in the smaller Viceroy room. With the late arrival of one of the linesman and someone in the Amersham party, kick-off was delayed until 7-55PM.

If CG were feeling any tiredness with their hectic end-of-season schedule (including NINE home games in a month), they certainly didn't show it as they ripped into the hapless Amersham defence from the start. Including a free kick that Amersham's keeper could only helplessly watch fly past him, CG were 4-0 up after only half an hour after which they decided to sportingly let Amersham have a share of the possession. Little, if anything, came of it and it came as little surprise that the hosts continued their superiority in the second half.

Here endeth this season's visits to Barton (7 Crawley Green, 5 Barton)

Indeed you are right Stingray - I know from reading the other forum that it was your post that Mr Rhodes lifted and failed to credit you with the courtesy you deserve.

Looks remarkably similar to the post above - comparing the respective usernames should be a bit of a giveaway but I suppose if you've got nothing better to do...

Apologies but I thought they were two different reports, anyway it's hardly crime of the century
