Horley v Mole Valley anyone?

This coming Saturday the 2 above named teams take each, other on at the New Defence,in a Relegation decider.

If either side loses they are relegated,if they draw both play CCL Premier Football next season.Ash will be relegated. So in what could be a tense finale for both sides,do they play an attacking formation ,gung ho style, forget the consequences.Predicting a score could be difficult, but I will not be boring and go for 0-0,I have tossed  up between 11-11 and 22-22,would this be a CCL RECORD,I presume all players will wear a wrist watch,so as not lose track of the time.

Post your own scores below,a prize awaits the Winner, the first thing on the CCL AGENDA for the next AGM is that the League must finish on the same day for all Teams, irrespective of inclement weather, other Leagues have done it,so why not ours.

Finally my commiserations to Ash on their relegation, hardly fair to say the least.

All teams were originally due to finish on the same day.  Following the bad weather, the FA belatedly allowed matches to go on until 5 May.  A number of Thursday games were then re-scheduled for Sat 3 May, to alleviate, where possible, clubs having to play Sat, Tue, Thu, Sat, a situation which had already drawn complaints from some quarters.  It was simply the lesser of two evils to spread the games out where possible.  We have managed to get 16 out of the 22 playing on Saturday.  The wild variation in the number of matches to be fitted in between (say) Windsor, who had very few postponements, and Chessington (say) who suffered multiple postponements, made it impossible to get in a full fixture list.

This will be the biggest game of the season for all three Clubs with so much depending on it. A close one to call with Town needing to win three on the trot to stay up (or at least a draw). There were a number of managers at our game on Tuesday watching including Southpark, Colliers Wood and of course Mole Valley. Also must be the first time all three clubs from Divison one have ground granding to come up as well.

Figures crossed we can stay up

Ash utd must be bricking it. Should have been relegated last season but got a reprieve. Now it all goes down to the final day but can't do a thing about it.

Carthorse

Just to clarify, the game was postponed originally as the lights at Cobham failed and have continued to for the rest of the season. We did ask to Horley to rearrange so we could attend the Funeral of our Skippers Father, but Horley refused.

Please get the facts right.

Many Thanks

Apologies to all at the Leg of Mutton for getting the venue wrong.I am sure Anthony and Darren will get their tactics right on the day. They have the choice between playing 42 League Games or 28 League games next season as things stand.I think there will be a love in between both sets of supporters as well on the day, cheering each other on.Alas Surrey F.A. will lose out,I predict No Bookings in this tense finale, more of a love in :D

0-0 - No incidents and probably not much football!

That is unfortunate for Ash, (although they did get a reprieve last season) but if you were in Horley or Mole Valley's position, would you take the risk or just stay in your half with the ball while the other team wait and watch patiently from the other end of the pitch.

It might not be what the purists want, but they've all worked too hard to slip up now when there is an ideal outcome for them.

As I said on another forum,  to avoid this problem ever occurring again, just set the final games in stone with all 22 involved and any ground sharing clubs given an away fixture on that day (in case of clashing with any playoff final) and should the league be extended, move all those eleven fixtures back by a week and fill in the week before bit by bit instead. At Step Five all grounds will still be available as we all know there is always the chance of a week's extension. Simples!

:D How about this one. All the people of Ash go to the bookies and bet on a 0-0 result. When the result comes in both Horley and Mole Valley lose points for match fixing :D

It could be said that Ash have worked a little harder in fulfilling all their fixtures on time (26th April) and I'm sure they were not the only ones to do it. How about if teams don't finish their fixtures by the allotted date then they lose points. This may make the teams with poor pitches and lighting get their acts together.

At the end of the day if Ash were playing their last game on Saturday it would have come down to the same thing in that they would have known that a final victory would count for nothing if the Horley v Mole Valley ended in a draw

Who expected Hanworth to lose last night after their drubbing of Epsom and Ewell on Saturday, they are the VILLIANs of the peace.Likewise the BADDIES have a lot to answer for with their 1v1 draw v Ash.The thing is can anyone trust anyone in this League.

You should have more faith, if you were there last night you would have seen that Hanworth did not want to lose, also two players one from each side were sent off, and maybe you should give some credit to Horley and the management team, for an excellent win.

The same people who expected Bedfont to beat Ash earlier this month? Had they done so  -a shock result given Bedfonts fine recent form - Ash would already be relegated  ;)

A very good question Smudger !

.... and of course, TRUST is an anagram of STRUT....

I'll leave you lot to work out the significance.
