To be fair I'm pretty sure if you asked every single person, including their manager, he will tell you that the ref ruined the game for everybody. Awful. Awful. Awful.

Ref was poor both ways, peno shouts were far fetched none of them were even close. Smashed woodwork 3 times and a number of saves and quite a few scrambled away, it was a wonder you didn't score. We weren't at it at all today no ahape, no goal threat our back four was saving grace, started with assistant in goal though and no Vinny, Claude or Dean Buss. Other than the goal we had one very good chance in first half a header open goal blazed over. However we have dominated a lot of games and come away with nothing this season.

Think we will both be there or there abouts next season with a bit of investment and a couple of new faces.

DIVISION ONE

3-0 Sun Postal Sports v Baldock Town   (Sun Postal Sports Champions)

A report from another Forum:

Sun Postal Sports 3 - 0 Baldock Town

SSML Div 1

Admission £4, including programme.

Had a choice of a few meaningful games within my travelling range today. Chose this one right at the limit of that range, as it was a bonus of a new ground for me.

The ground is easy to find among the houses in north Watford, and there is a good sized car park. Entry was through the club house, although apparently that will be changing for Step 5 next year. A decent programme was free on entry, with plenty available.

Sun were already promoted, but needed another point at start of play to guarantee the Div 1 title. They certainly seemed up for it from the start, although this manifested itself a little too much in overreacting to tackles and moaning at the ref. The strong wind was against Sun in the first half, which though competitive was fairly dull. The best chance fell to Sun, when poor defending left one of their forwards one-on-one with the keeper, but he failed to score.

HT 0-0

Early in the second half, Town missed their own sitter, but after that Sun had much the better of the game with the wind behind them. The first goal was scored fairly early on, and soon after, Town were reduced to 10 men following a straight red for an off the ball incident that I didn't see. Town rallied quite well after this setback, but two further goals later in the half sealed the win and the title for the home team.

A great day for everyone at the club today. Todays goals were scored by B.Healey 2, I.Bywater and R.Laney. That's 54 goals for B.Healey this season what a great player he has been for Hanwell Town FC.

Nice people at AFC Dunstable and good luck for next season.

Worthy champions Hanwell Town and very humble with it.

Yeah I would hope so we need someone else in cm with Jakub, young George Shrieves (only 16) has played all season has plenty of ability but physically can't compete yet and lot of the game passes him by. His great cross for goal though. Looking at two or three to bring in and fee more youngsters coming through.

You were better side on the day denied by woodwork. Thought the game was very competitive no end of season air about it at all.

I thought he was going to explode at one point. I worry about his health. Plenty of passion.

He had a couple of moments. I said to him yesterday once it's gone it's gone and if he moans about small stuff too much when he moans about big stuff it's white noise. He knows it he just gets caught up cos he wants to win. The one very good decision ref have was the offside he picked up on when you're goalie was up in our half as there was only one defender between our forward and the goal.

Totally agree. Love his passion but like you say maybe calm it down on the small stuff and it'll help with the big stuff. I'm sure at one point he was screaming at the ref about not giving US an advantage. Lol

Any groundhopper reports from yesterday?

Here's one from Winslow United v Crawley Green, that's surprisingly all there is on another Forum other than Sun Postal Sports v Baldock Town:

Spartan South Midlands Division 1

Winslow United 1-0 Crawley Green

Admission £4, programme £1

Attendance: 62

Although nothing riding on the game, I decided to visit one of those awkward-to-get-to venues that has eluded me for far too long. I was expecting a nondescript, one-horse village in the middle of nowhere, but Winslow turned out to be a very picturesque and attractive little place in the middle of nowhere, with the football club seemingly part of a number of sporting facilities (cricket, bowls etc) available to the villagers. The croquet green a couple of yards from the far touchline would suggest there's a bit of wealth here too, and pity the couple of old ladies whose relaxing afternoon trying to knock balls through hoops was played against the relentless backdrop of a typical SSML shouty swearfest.

Another ground that wouldn't pass muster up north but, grading requirements aside, good enough for it's level imho - fully railed, two sides of hard-standing, an atcost and a nice little social club does the job as far as I'm concerned. As for the game, Crawley Green looked the more accomplished side and hit the woodwork three times, but Winslow took the points with an early second half goal.
