The Aylesbury game

Having just listened to the Jon Underwood radio interview,I was pleased to hear that Ben Edwards and Wes Harrison are back in the squad for the Aylesbury game.

Is Ben Edwards over his back injury? If he is,then to me I would definitely play him in centre midfield along side Jamie Mclurg.Thought George Short was poor against Rugby and Gareth Risbridger doesn't appear to be up to the rigours of  a full match yet.As was mentioned on the Rugby thread by someone,it was the most evident game where you noticed big time, the huge hole that Leigh Rumbold absence has caused.

It doesn't sound like Wes Harrison has been playing much either but I think we should play him at left back for the Monday game,as James Dobson was awful in that position. I suppose we could play Ben Edwards at left back or put him at right back and move Sean Fraser to left back but to me why move Sean to the left, when he is so effective on the right.would be unnatural on the left, and had a decent game against Rugby.

I expect Bakes and Unders to start with Ben at left back and to play George and Jamie again in centre mid.If they do,George must show us more than he did against Rugby,as Jamie McClurg cannot do it all.

I'm not blaming George for the Rugby defeat,as I thought the belief that we could beat Rugby was drained when Ryan Parsons left the field and most of the Slough players just didn't do themselves justice on the day.

If we get back our will to win and give our all against Aylesbury,we will beat them.

In fairness to Dobbo he's not a natural left-back and was up against a very good right winger who has probably caused many good full-backs problems in that position this season.

Our manager's hands were tied somewhat,on the day,in who they could put in that position.Had Wooz or Steve Duff or Ben Edwards been around,it would have easily been remedied but they wasn't !

So far on what I have seen of James Dobson,he is better going forward and can deliver a telling cross. He is similar to Darren Wheeler as they both aren't good tacklers but to James credit,he will track back a bit more than Darren does.

He did seem out of his comfort zone at left back and it didn't take a rocket scientist to see, that we had untold problems on the left side of defence when Ryan Parson's went off.
