So... the rugby....

Recommended Posts

To borrow someone else's phrase for a minute, "I don't know anything about rubgy".

But I get the feeling that from being pre-tournament favourites, we're probably going to lose on Sunday.

France looked pretty hot against Ireland, and I've yet to see anything from our boys to suggest we're world class.

But what do I know?

Can someone who does, please fill me in??

Ta.

what's the point of playing a 'sport' when your not sure how the ball is going to bounce? Watch football.

I refer you to the Stan Collymore wonder goal scored againt Tottenham when the amazing Anfield divot made Ian Walker look even more of a tit than usual

Collymore shot, rolled along floor, at Anfield, bounced up and over Tim Flowers shoulder. Happened to Nigel Martyn fairly recently as well. I lay the blame for 6 of the Farnborough rezzie goals on the pitch as well. The other was a defensive mix-up when Brew tried to pull off a 'one-two.' Bit too complicated for that level, Brew, sort of getting ahead of yourself. Alright, Keith Dublin was in your pocket but a 'one-two?!?!'

sadly I missed out on that game as I was dodging the soap myself back then.

I stand corrected GHA, it was Flowers beaten by Collymore, but in the same season McManaman made Walker sit in his box and laugh like a girl thanks to another friendly divot

Talking of comebacks, SteveP, were you at the game at Chesham at the start of the 99/00 season, when you were 3-1 up with eight minutes to go, only for us to go and win it 4-3? I think that was my last visit to Chesham.

Always seems to be a reason I can't make the Chesham game, be it weddings, funerals or simply bed-ridden with a hangover.
