Blues v Grays Athletic - Tuesday 15th April

Recommended Posts

Billericay Town v Grays Athletic

Isthmian League Premier Division

Saturday 15 April 2014, 7:45pm

This Tuesday evening Grays make the short journey to New Lodge having recording a repectable draw against Wealdstone over the weekend.

So far this month Grays have failed to win a game.  During March they won 7 of their 11 fixtures. Grays currently sit 14th, 3 places and 3 points behind Billericay.

Last five:

D0-0 v Kingstonian (H)

D2-2 v Harrow Borough (A)

D1-1 v Carshalton Athletic (A)

L3-4 v Bognor Regis Town (H)

D1-1 v Wealdstone (H)

The two teams met back in September and played out a 2-2 draw.  Ricky Sappleton opened the scoring and Billericay went in at half time still ahead.  Grays scored two quick goals in the second half to take the lead before James Robinson equalised with his first goal for the club.

Good to see us follow up a decent win/performance with another one. All 4 goals were excellent and we showed signs of playing some of the decent stuff that we displayed earlier in the season. I hope we persist with the Ekim/Poole/Dunne combo as we look far more balanced. Ending Lowestoft's play-off charge would be very nice on Saturday.

To me that was one of our best performances of the season. The football we played throughout was superb, especially in the 2nd half. When it was 3-0 we was playing with such freedom i know we've been capable of all season which is why this season has been even more frustrating! I think with Benjamin upfront rather than an out an out target man our skillful players such as him and Layne get on the ball more which showed with both of them scoring. Lets hope we continue this to the last game
