Looking at the respective line-ups it was obvious who were favourites to take the points and the scoreline was not surprising on that basis. However, the home side - consisting of many very young players - gave us a really good game and perhaps the final score was a little harsh on them.

 

Andy Douglas gave us the lead after only 9 minutes with an odd shot which curled wildly round David Hogan in the Waltham Forest goal. The sprightly home side equalised in the 22nd minute through Darren Duporte but we regained the lead a few minutes before half time, Andy Douglas blasting home after a defensive clearance canoned loose off another defender.

 

On 62 minutes new boy Chima Eberendu made it 3-1 to us with a superb goal from distance after an intelligent pass from Douglas and shortly after Michael Collier had to pull of a good save from Victor Fayenuwo Eberendu scored his second of the evening sweeping the ball home at the far post from a Bradley Allen cross.
