AFC HAYES V ASHFORD TOWN MX. 1 - 2

Superb performance tonight boys by far the better side, nice to see so many made the effort to make the short trip to get behind the Team. We even had some additional support from a group of very complimentary Kettering fans after they had travelled to their game at Eghzm only for it to be called off at half 4 due to floodlight failure Suprise Suprise !!! That's now two games in as many weeks.

A good, hard, battling performance and three very welcome points, on a soft and slippery pitch which both sides had difficulty adapting to..

Lovely opening goal in the 28th when a defence splitting pass from, I think, Jack Beadle, set Sammy off and he fizzed the ball high into the net. We started tentatively and sluggishly after the break and gave too much room down the right flank, which is how "Brook" got their equaliser in the 64th, but another fine attack saw Sammy fouled in the box and Beads confidently stroked home the 70th minute penalty.

AFC Hayes weren't really up to much, the officials were found lacking (not for the first time this season) and the lights were awful, but at least they work. Some Kettering Town fans turned up to watch after their game was postponed due to the floodlights failing yet again at Egham Town! An absolute travesty.

Unfair to pick one player out from a real team effort, but Weighty was a colossus. I don't remember him losing an aerial battle tonight. His best game this season.

Typical that Chertsey won tonight so we're still bottom but, at least, it means our lads can't take the foot off the pedal. No looking over our shoulders to see what's going on. We've got to go full pelt for the last four games. Come on. lads, We can still do this!

Blimey! What a performance! Perhaps we should let the lads have a gentlemans evening every week !!

Awesome effort all around the pitch again, we are fighting to the death and I love it!

Incredible support again with over forty AshTrees in attendance. We need to fill the bus shelter on Saturday and really make some noise!

3points were A nice Birthday present for Mr Chairman who turned 68 as of midnight which is nearly 69........ Oh err Mrs!

Well done all!

Superb effort from all the lads again with everybody giving their all. Hard to pick out one but I have to agree with Ed. Scott Weight was awesome in midfield from start to finish. Once again the lads were a pleasure to watch. See you all saturday.

I really hope you escape relegation,as I always like visiting your club. One of the nicer clubs in this division, with a good bunch of knowledgeable non-league footie fans but I'm sorry I hope Slough win in style on Saturday, for our promotion push.Selfish I know !! lol !
