Canvey Photos

and 4 years down the road the urchins will have 500 odd photos and a 150 plus match reports to look over at their leisure .. no charge of course .. check out the fotos from the 2000/2001 season, bring back some great memories?, now check out the official match report from our excellent game against the K's this season..

i think the website was a great service to the club and also to the fans. and in this our finest season ever we will have no record of it.. no 40 pictures from the title celebrations, no build up to read no reports to look back on.. i suppose you could always keep the clippings from the evening echo or something...

I always said, I would never post ths information, but enough is enough, as I have a young family to protect, and I feel I have a right to reply to such messages,

I am sick and tired of people constantly criticising me - I provide you with a free forum to use, I pay for the software, server etc, for this forum to run on ($2,000 a year), and yet you still criticise me confused.gif

I don't recall you (Tackle100) complaining last time, you had a lift back to Canvey by these 'press pass holders' confused.gif

Since Ray Cross decided for no reason to ban us - I have been subject to mystery telephone calls, notes through my door, emails, PM's and some messages on this forum - is that really fair?

As for a free game - well if spending in excess of £10,000 earns a free game or so, then so be it - I did have to work at every game - or do you think that sitting on the side of a pitch taking photos for 90 minutes is not hard work?

I gave the club over £5,000 in various sponsorship deals - like the calendar, matches, players etc.

I invested over £5,000 in camera equipment whilst at Canvey, I have since spent a similar amount since I have been at Hornchurch.

I used to spend 20-40 hours a week on the canvey site, which I would add, I was approached to start and run - yes I even ran it, before I had seen Canvey play. (Of course similar hours were spent by Mervyn, and Matt)

As for making money seeling photos, don't make me laugh - the only photos I have ever sold, were just after the F.A. Trophy final, where I sold 5 - 10 photos all at about cost price in frames. I prefer to let others enjoy the photos that I take - if you would rather not look at them, then please do not.

I have supplied several photos to the Echo, which were often printed in colour on the back page - total amount earnt - £0.00

I have supplied photos to the Non League Paper - total amount earnt - £0.00

I used to run the online club shop, which I paid all the credit card fees (4%) and often delivered items around Canvey/Benfleet for fans prior to Christmas, big games etc.

As for coming in on a 'press pass' - I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Journalists - as beleive it or not, I do other journalistic work, that you are not aware of - I can assure you that you cannot hold a police accredited press pass, unless you are a genuine journalist.

Perhaps you want to target your fellow supporter(s), who found a press pass and used it to gain access to football matches.

Please do not come onto this forum, and critice others - fine approach me in the street if you wish - but people who hide behind anonymous notes, with-held telephone numbers, free email addresses etc., are the lowest of the low.

Now I am not saying I am perfect - perhaps I was not the best Chairman of the Supporters Club, that there has been - I could blame that on my illness but I wont - but at least I can look back with good memories at things like the train coming to Park Lane for 'Mad Al' - sad the memorial stone paid for by the supporters was never put in place - may be others have given more time to the club, working on the pitch, but that is not my skill - but I was there to fix the P.A. system, and to call in a friend of mine to assist to rewire to get it working for a big game - so I think I did my small bit.

So you can see, I have tried my best in whatever I did at Canvey - in fact I have tried my best for Non League football in general - trying to support grass roots football, with sites like this. If you think it is fair, how Ray Cross treated me then fine - if 1,000 people on Canvey think that fine - but I hope that just one or two people will realise that I was not in it for a free game.

What people like you and Ray Cross did, and continue to do, hurts - I doubt you will turn up for my funeral - I doubt any Canvey fans will - but please do me a favour and leave me, and my family alone. And if you want to send flowers, please deliver them c/o Stibbards Funeral Directors.

Alright, I think jealousy's taken over, and gone a little too far. Right now I wish I was an administrator, for one reason only, so I could close this f**king thread. People's opinions should be their opinions, and this is the most pathetic way to bitch at someone, online of course. Oh, how easy it is. Tackle - Keep your thoughts to yourself, I/Other people do not want to hear them.

I'm not even going to comment on either of the main postings, but just to say: It makes me sick to hear a comment like that come from someone obviously older and more sense than me.

<img src="/images/graemlins/icon14.gif" alt="" /> I think this site is great and I think I speak for the mass (if not all the true CIFC supporters and other non league supporters)this site is excellent!!! Without this we wouldn't have a clue what was going on.The official site is sometimes slow with the news and facts (if there at all) so we as fans can air our views on your site. I'm not aware of all the previous problems (only what I've read on this and the old site) but I think that your work, time and effort should not go unnoticed so if others are 'looking after you' then you deserve it. It truly is Canveys' loss.

Keep up the good work and good luck with all your future projects!

Like i've said many times, i never agreed with the ban in the first place, and still don't. It's just the self pity i can't handle. There are other thing's i could have brought up but didn't, the general gist from the beginning was along the lines of look at how much i've done for Canvey, yes you provided some great photo's, and you got the recognition for that, but you also got a lot out of it, so end the woe is me bit. As for the notes, phone calls etc. that is unacceptable behaviour, should never be condoned, and were i to hear any mention of people doing it would let Ian know immediately. Now CIFC-YA, to address your comment, the point of a forum is to have differing views, you put yours, other people put their's, that makes a discussion. I'm not anonymous as i've never made any secret of who i am, and i am responding to a long term subject, not just bitching. It seems to me CIFC-YA, that you're quite prepared to discuss things, but only if everyone agrees with you. End a thread when you get one opposing view out of about 20 posts? what boring site it would be if you were a moderator. I would like to say, disagreements aside Ian, you do run a great site, keep it up.

On the subject of 'free-loaders' did you realise that Dick Marshall comes into Park Lane on a press pass? I mean, what a liberty. All he does is write a column in the Evening Echo several times a week. And Dick Davis, he's another tight-[****!!****] who doesn't pay to enter Park Lane; and all because he does a weekly report, extolling the virtues and exploits of CIFC on BBC Essex. I mean, compared to the contribution you make to the club Jim, what a bunch of spongers!

Did you realise that Barry Davies didn't pay nine quid, like you do, when he came in to commentate on the Canvey v Northampton game? Nor did Hansen or Stubbs or any others of the BBC crew. What a liberty when you have to line up and pay your dosh week afer week.

But it goes deeper. I understand that Frances Roche gets in for free, so does Keith Johnson and there is a rumour that even Glen Pennyfather tries to avoid paying whenever he gets a chance. I ask you, what have these hangers-on ever done for the club, compared to you who can't get a pass for love nor money.

This whole subject of who pays and who gets a pass is in need of serious investigation. Perhaps you could offer to set up a working party to do the research Jim. You could uncover all sorts of deals that go on amongst an elite bunch of hangers-on while the genuine workers, contributors, backstage crew, sponsors, writers, photographers, website designers, announcers, journalists, sweepers-uppers, groundsmen and of course your good self, make such a substantial contribution to the club in return for so little.

How's that for a bit of free speech?

Tackle 1K - I am totally intrigued by your statement regarding Ian 'You got a lot out of it' please outline or should I say clarify what you exactly mean by that statement and explain your grounds regarding the information and what source; is this statement of yours fact or is it a rumour that you have heard?

Until you can come up with the above then as far as I am concerned you are once again 'Bang out of Order'!!
