v AFC Hayes

Agree on Jamie - was excellent today, but thought overall it was an excellent defensive performance as well today for a team playing their second game in 3 days, as apart from a Tony Mendy free-kick I don't think Sommers had many saves to make today.

Good, solid performance which really should have been a comfortable win by 3 or 4 goals.

We are looking like a real team unit at the moment with a defence that's giving little away and a midfield that are closing players down and creating chances for Smithy and JD.

Must agree with all that's been said about Clurgy. He gave an absolutely superb and dynamic performance in midfield today and my MOTM by a country mile.

I also thought George Short had a very good game alongside Clurgy.

Another 3 points and starting to look good for a place in the play-offs.

COYR!!!

After 3/4 of the game I was saying that the Ref was one of the best we've had this season with some good banter thrown in.

Then for some inexplicable reason he started giving decisions that had everyone scratching their heads in dis-belief.

The one where he gave a corner when the Hayes player just skied it over the bar with no other player in sight was probably the pick of the bunch.

great team effort today, afc still not a pleasant place to visit ( though there were reports that some wished that they enjoyed todays game by the man on the gate . most unusual), tony mendy showed why he would not fit into a slough side today with his petulant schoolboy football, if the ball didn't fall to his feet or come to him when he called for it he just stopped, if he just kept going he could have caused us a lot more problems, nothing has changed since he was in our under 18's.for me clurgy was our mom for me never stopped working for the team, smithy just got to keep going , he's going to get a hatfull some time soon. COYR.

How long is this country mile that Neil and Reading Rebel have quoted?!

There's no denying Jamie McClurg had an excellent game but so did Warren Harris and

Dave Woozley.

Both of our full backs,Sean and Ryan had very good games, too. So for me,the country mile tag is

not true.

What has been great about our midfield in recent games,is that we haven't missed Rummy as much

as most of us would have thought.Jamie McClurg is back to his best and George Short has upped his game.He over hit some passes yesterday but had a competent enough game although faded

somewhat in the second half.Which leaves room for improvement.

What is encouraging is when George gets forward,he's now not afraid to shoot. He has a

powerful shot which should be utilised, something which Jamie McClurg doesn't seem blessed

with.

In fact,in the opening 5 minutes of the game,Jamie was surprised to find himself in acres of

space in front of goal but rather than shoot, with only the keeper to beat,he made the chance

harder by passing. So it wasn't a faultless performance,as the country mile tag suggests.

Feeling pedantic this morning ! lol !

Not much mention of yesterday's goal, which was superb.

Fantastic touch by Dyer to put Warren in on goal.

Twas an excellent goal from Wazza and as you say a great lay-off from JD.

Pity we won't be seeing it again on video.

Never thought I would say that McClurg was MOTM but he was yesterday for me, tho Wooz seems to be getting better with age !

Should have been a North Greenford type score, with so many blocks, unlucky bounces, woodwork etc stopping the kind of rout the domination deserved............as well as the real misses that should have been put away.

Three points is what mattered, mission achieved.......................the boys can do no more than keep on winning for themselves and us !

Wasn't the myFC cameraman there yesterday?

Unfortunately not.  MyFC currently film all the home matches but only select away matches which are funded by its Golden Goal competition. As this competition wasn't fully subscribed at the start of the season, there was only enough to film 5 matches. Full subscription would have funded the filming of 8, maybe 9 away matches.

As Laurence (the cameraman) wasn't able to make one of the home matches due to car problems (can't remember which match), it appears that the Aylesbury match will now be filmed.

It's also possible that a play-off match (if required) will be filmed.

Bloody hell felt exhausted just reading about Jamie's day.  Think we sometimes forget they have to work etc etc. (well I dont but a lot of grumpy men on here do).

Well done to all the team, really doing a great job.

Impressed with James Dobson he looked more like a lethal weapon on the pitch rather than his hair did when he played for Burnham.

Also have to mention, I know a lot of us knock Hayes ground, but the men on the gate were very jovial and the ladies in the tea bar were lovely, their burgers were probbaly the best I have tasted for a long time, and YES Warren I am serious !
