v AFC Hayes

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't say it's bigger game even in context.I do,however, think it's a potential banana skin and if the players are not focused and let their game drop below their recent high standards,we could come unstuck, against an always hard to beat AFC Hayes.

Hopefully,Bakes and Unders will rouse the players not to be complacent.

The fact that we have such a short time to recover after playing such a big game on Thursday and the fact that we always tend to struggle against AFC Hayes.

This season we've raised our game and beaten most of the top teams and tended to struggle against teams lower down the division.

Putting it in that context I'd say it's a tougher game today.

Oh I see,RR,can see what you mean now.

Would you rest anyone,then?

The only changes from the starting line up that started at Barton I would make,if no one has

picked up knocks, would be Jake Parsons to play first half instead of Wazza, who I would bring on

in the 2nd half and start with Adam Cornell for Smithy, who also I would bring on second half,if needed.

Same 11 if no knocks etc.

My only problem is that I would like to see Jake Parsons start if he was 100% fit.

Certainly wouldn't leave out Wazza if he is fit. I thought he was outstanding again on Thursday.

My observation was not to leave Wazza or Ed out but to rest them.Dave Woozley may need a rest insecond half, too.

the fact Rugby are suddenly in danger of not making the playoffs shows how crazy the season has been. will be harsh on whoever misses out but someone must

comfortable win but should have won at least 3 or 4-0 really. positive that we are creating so many chances so freely though even if we are not troubling the keeper enough with them. their keeper couldn't even take goal kicks yet for 2nd game running we failed to really consistently test him despite good chances BUT still won. 3 points on the board the main concern right now

they rarely troubled us and when they did the defence were solid as a rock

Slough's up to second place today after another good victory.First 15 minutes of the game,

Slough started like a steam train and played some great stuff but we were never going to keep that pace going.

My MOTM today has to be Warren Harris. His goal was superb and worth the admission fee on it's

own.He was in the thick of the action all the time until he was strangely subbed.

Thought Jamie McClurg also had a very good game and seemed back to his best.

Poor old Ed Smith couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo today. He must be wondering how he

never bagged,at least one goal.He certainly got into good positions but it just didn't fall

for him.Another day he would have helped himself to a hat-trick.

Still,we got the 3 points, that's all that matters.

Jamie McClurg, was top drawer!!! The effort he has put in over 48 hours is incredible!!

Not only has he worked like a Trojan on the pitch today, since Thursday he has put in a full days work on Thursday before helping Jake/Ryan change a tyre on the M25, put in a top performance at Barton, get home just before midnight, be in work at 6.30 next morning (he paints cars for a living) finish gone 5, and then also work from 5am today until just after 10.

MOM by a country mile.

Have to agree.Easily the best player on the pitch.Should have "Duracell" across the back of his shirt!

Yet another thoroughly professional performance against a team with something to prove (esp Mendy). Cracking goal for Warren, and although Ed didn't have his shooting boots on he is excused after his fantastic match-winning goal on Thursday. Special mention for George who is fitting into the DM role well, but MotM by a mile was Jamie McClurg - what a performance!
