Dagger03
Thursday 04-April-2014 – Essex Senior League Reserve Shield HORNCHURCH 2 LONDON APSA 0 HFC – Ben Lane – Giani Ashley – Curtley Yates – Bobby Moorton – SamBurton © - Jake Piper – Frankie Williams – Ross Damrell (Luke Sawyer 74) – Martin Tuohy (Frankie Holland 63) – Joe Scott – Russell Downs (Sam Dickens 84) Hornchurch had the better of the play in the first half, and took the lead when Frankie Williams converted a cross from the left. London APSA had much more of the play in the second half, and Hornchurch can thank goalkeeper Ben Lane for a series of fine saves, as the visitors pressed hard for the equaliser. Hornchurch slowly regained control of the midfield and went close when a free kick cannoned back off the bar. Hornchurch thought they were awarded a penalty when Fankie Holland was fouled, the referee, who had a very good game, appearing to change his decision after consultation with a linesman, and awarded a free kick outside the area. Frankie Williams made the result safe when he ran through and lobbed the ball over Amish Patel seven minutes from time. Hornchurch are now in the semi final of the reserve shield. Dagger03
His first goal was from a cross from the left wing. The second was a very well placed lob over the keeper, in the style of Simon Parker.
