v Barton

Get in there you Rebels!! Does anyone know if it is mathematically possible for us to win the league??? No disrespect to Wooz and I know he's getting on a bit now but when he goes all out he is for me the best Centre Half in the league. Great win and like others say the support was superb. Give me an S........... lol

Sounded unsportsmanlike to not pass the ball back to sommers glad it didn't result in a goal!

Barton players tried to CHEAT their way to an equaliser, got their just desserts in the end tho   :D

Bloody fantastic win and performance from the team tonight.

Could go through all 11 players including sub/s and pick out some outstanding performances tonight but for me the MOTM was the WHOLE TEAM.

With a bit of luck we could have been a goal or two up at half time.

Second half we played some superb attacking football culminating with two excellent goals from DJ and Smithy.

Well done to all the players and management for a great nights entertainment and another 3 points towards our ultimate goal.

COYR!!!!

Fantastic night for the club, a great performance on the pitch (although sticking in one more of those many chances would've been nice!) and great loud support off it.

Barton Twitter is pretty shocking publicly criticising the ref for making the wrong call on the throw that led to the goal. No mention of the wild lunging tackle by their 8 (although our own Dobson probably could have been sent off too) or the Barton players not giving the ball back at the end after Jake put it out when both he and their player were on the floor injured. Makes me glad our twitter service is more professional.

But anyway its a massive win for us and well deserved the whole team was brilliant all over with just a bit of frustration at how many chances went begging. Defence were superb all night and limited then to next to nothing even when they had their 5 minutes of pressure at the end.

Same again Saturday and things will be looking good. COYR!

Big big win. I haven't read the comments from Barton but irrespective of whether a throw-in was given the wrong way you still have to defend the throw, any cross and subsequent shot which they didn't do. They were blatantly playing for a draw from the first whistle with the keeper holding the ball until forced to pick it up, even early in the first half. Notwithstanding that throw-in which should have been Barton's I thought the referee handled the game very well considering their incessant moaning, especially numbers 6 and 8.

I took exception to their number 5 screaming at Alfie behind the goal when we were 2-1 up for him to "GET THE BALL". I told Alfie to leave it and pointed out that as they had been time wasting for half the game he should get his own f*****g ball.

Any complaints Barton may have had were negated by their disgraceful refusal to return the ball at the end when Jake put it out for treatment.

Great win and great support.

Absolutely brilliant well done to all the lads, superb win. Doubly thankful as well because that means that Aidan and I will now not be banned !

Have to say though I watched the last couple of minutes through my fingers

Also isn't Guy the best thrower on ever !

Big win last night, proud of the team. Loved hearing the match on the YT radio, next best thing to being there, so well done all involved on that front.

Out of interest, because of the radio, does that mean no more regular twitter feed updates?

Roll on AFC Hayes Saturday #allaboutmomentum

Twitter updates will definitely continue from the club's official account - I was the only one from the pool of people with access to the account in attendance last night, and could barely send a text message due to poor signal. Not a regular occurrence and normal service to be resumed tomorrow. Luckily, by all accounts the radio commentary was excellent.

That was my first trip up to Barton and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was led to believe. It was probably the best club house I've visited this season.

Thought we were excellent again last night all over the pitch against a good, well organised Barton outfit and we showed great character again to come back from their fantastic equaliser. Great result, and maybe, if we keep up this form, we can start to target the likes of Rugby, Daventry and Dunstable in the league.

Have to do it all again on Saturday though, against a Hayes side that would love nothing more than to put a big dent in our promotion hopes. They've done it time and time again in recent years so the fans and player will have to be at it again.

COYR!

One of the highlights last night was the baiting of the Barton number 6.

Got some stick from us and then instead of concentrating on his game he was more concerned with giving hand gestures behind the Refs back.

Didn't do him and ultimately his team mates any good because from then on his game fell apart   :D

The ref had a lot to do with talking to their players constant moans in the second half, plus a couple of off the ball incidents I didn't see and sending their manager off.

He had to speak to the head linesman twice in the second half

I phoned Barton at 21.40 and it was still going on?

That comment brings back memories.

I remember in the 80s, away midweek games me and my dad couldnt make, we were on the blower to Wexham Park Club House at half time and full time to find out the result.  Sometimes the result not coming through until 10pm
