Tough game tonight v Langford. All depends on which Langford side turn up. Won 2 out of their last 3 games then get batter 8nil. No doubt we'll have a completly different 11 out from our last game, squad is thin enough but midweekers are even harder to predict who's gonna turn up

Mate out game was a joke we battered them the 90% of the game played in their area keeper should have been sent off and a penalty given but nothing. We just couldn't score, you'll destroy them. Lovely people at that club.

Penalty to Wodson ref has been an absolute homer, this will be Wodsons only shot, Bamber saves!! Even ref cheating can't stop Winslow tonight

Felt we were the better side all night. Floodlight failure for 20mins. 4-0 S Strange hat-trick and Smithy with a worldy finish. Langford were a much better side tonight than the one we played earlier in the season. Apparently they had 6 new players in their 11 tonight that's tough at any level. Ref could've/should've sent their lad off early on, last man hand ball central just outside the box, but wasn't interfering

Was at Wodson Park v Winslow United. Very scrappy game. Winslow scored in the first half and neither side really created any other notable chances. Right on 90 mins the referee gave the home a penalty for what he adjudged to be a foul in the box...i think most people present couldn't believe it! Wodson blew their chance to collect a point when the keeper saved well to his left hand side.

Below are brief highlights --- the goal scored and that penalty decision??/  never a pen!

We have had too many shocking pen decisions this season, just chalk up another.

Copied and pasted from the other place :P

South Midlands Division 1

BALDOCK TOWN 1-1 F.C. BROXBOURNE BOROUGH

Admission £5.00 Prog £1.00 CBC & C £4.70 Tea £1.00

Attendance 18 (h/c 32, probably includes BTFC staff, Hitchin boiz and hyperactive Angus resplendent in his school uniform)

A dilemma with all three Wednesday hosts competing with each other. I’d already ruled out Chesham as it was their local derby. I could have picked Crawley Green for the first time since November – just as well I didn’t as there was a 20 minute floodlight failure and the lure of Captain Spatch’s chips proved too irresistible. So, in a reversal of a similar dilemma back in September, it was back to Top Field. Good though Ross’s programme is, the fixtures page didn’t go up to Easter Monday – can anyone confirm what the kick-off times are?

As for the game, Broxbourne took the lead in the first half, only for Baldock to equalise with a well-taken free kick midway through the second. Apart from that, nothing of note and sod’s law that of the three, it was the game with fewest goals. Maybe Baldock are tiring a bit – both they and Crawley Green have got loads of games to squeeze in and are locked in a fearsome battle for my custom.

Cheers for the highlights coldend, agree with your match assessment apart from Jakub hitting the post in the first half, forcing a terrific save from the Wodson keeper in the 2nd and Drew rounding the keeper and blazing over an unguarded net we didn't create a lot ;)

Cheers Mr Fox....I think I was standing right next to you. If you had the LCFC hoody top on.

When he hit the post it was offside!

Winslow deserved the win. Great penalty save at the end

Yeah that was me :)

I thought the initial shot from Jakub was onside when it hit the post then when Vinny went for the rebound and headed over that was when the flag went up, I may be wrong.

Thought we deserved the win, but recently we haven't been getting what we deserve and when the ref gave the 'penalty' my heart was in my throat I have to say, was never a penalty and glad you got it on camera to prove my thoughts correct.

Thought the ref was a homer last night and was dying to give Wodson something, I even turned to the guys I was watching the game with and said that he will give them a penalty, if he could've stepped up and took it himself I'm sure he would of done.

DIVISION TWO

0-1 Old Bradwell United v Kent Athletic

A report from another Forum:

Spartan South Midlands DIV 2

Old Bradwell United 0-1 Kent Athletic ATT h/c 25 f&n (hosts offered to post a prog to me as they do not issue midweek)

A reasonable game of 40 mins each way kicking off at 18.25 i.e 5 mins early & only 5 mins break. It was quite gloomy at the end. Goal came on 16 mins from visitors number 3 Currington. I think they just deserved points but game of few clear chances.

This location is in Bradwell village in a large grass area also used by cricket club sloping down towards the river from which many balls had to be retrieved during the game & a large fishing net on a long pole is used for this. No spectator facilities exist at pitchside but pitch is railed on 3 sides & roped adjacent to cricket square. Fast trains pass frequently on the mainline the other side of the river.

DIVISION ONE

0-1 Wodson Park v Winslow United

A brief report from another Forum:

SSML Div 1

Wodson Park 0-1 Winslow United

Adm £4 prog £1 Att h/c 27.

Athletics track adjacent to Ware FC (same car park). Viwing from one side only (hardstanding, no cover) with bar / tea bar /changing rooms in the building behind.

The few chances went mostly to the visitors who scored the only goal on about 25 mins. Second half notable for a visiting forward rounding the keeper and then blazing over the bar of the empty goal. Wodson earned a penalty in injury time which was well saved.

DIVISION TWO

6-0 Hale Leys United v Willen

A report from another Forum:

SSMFL Div 2, 6.25pm

at Fairfield Leys, Aylesbury

Hale Leys United (4)6 Willen (0)0

Attendance: forgot to count but I reckon around 25-30

Speaking with the young and enthusiastic chap behind the scenes here at Hale Leys before the game, their future seems to be in good hands. On the pitch, they are on course for a treble this season having only lost once in the league but will not be allowed promotion because Fairfield Leys is, well, a bunch of football pitches on the edge of town with zero facilities. Mr Hale Leys is determined to change this however as he hopes to develop the area closest to the changing rooms into a step 6 ground with a clubhouse built beyond the existing changing rooms. Apparently, if they win the league this season, an offer of promotion will be made and can be taken up within 3 years should the ground be developed in that time.
