Dagger03
Wednesday 31-March-2014 – Youth Alliance HORNCHURCH 6 GRAYS ATHLETIC 1 HFC (BA) – Callum Chafer – Fahad Nazor – Darnell Weise – Rob Livett (Evaristo-Prince Kitoko 75) – Luke Read – Isaak Bascombe – Jamie Courtney-Chand (Stefan McKwnzie-Burns 67)– Martynas Saltenis – Owen Edobar – Garrett Kelly (Paulius Ditkevicius 72) – Jamie Hursit Scorers – Foord 12 (G) – Read 36 (H) – Edobar 53 (H) – Weise 61 (H) – Hursit 63 (H) – Kelly 71 (H) – Ditkevicius 74 (H) Hornchurch moved to the top of the league with a convincing win over Grays at the Bridge. Ben Foord gave Grays an early lead, when he headed over Callum Chafer on twelve minutes, but Hornchurch then proceeded to take charge, though they had to wait until the 36th minute to draw level, when Luke Read finished off at close range after a spell of pressure on the visiting goal. Hornchurch went ahead on 53 minutes when Grays keeper Bobby Constantine could not hold a close range shot from Owen Edober, and Darnell Weise, moving up to join the attack, made it three on 61 minutes. With almost continuous pressure it was no surprise when Jamie Hursit netted two minutes later following good work by Weise, who was denied his second goal by an offside flag shortly afterwards. Garrett Kelly added a fifth goal, and Paulius Ditkevicius, who had been on the pitch for less than two minutes, completed the scoring. The next home match is on Wednesday 02-April, at 2 pm, against Romford Blues. There is no charge for admission and team sheets are available in the clubhouse.
