Mark44
Hello All, For anyone following the analysis on what the possible final table will look like it is as follows: 1) Dunstable 88 2) Daventry 88 3) Rugby 86 4) Barton 84 5) Slough 83 6) Kettering 77 Now that there are only 6 teams in the hunt (in my opinion) I have done an alternate prediction which is based on my thoughts around the fixtures each team has, this is as follows: Dunstable Chertsey (A) - Win, Kettering (A) - Draw, Aylesbury (H) - Draw, Leighton (A) - Win, Uxbridge (W) - Win Rugby Chalfont (H) - Win, St Ives (H) - WIn, Slough (A) - Lose, Barton (H) - Draw, AFC Hayes (A) - Draw Slough Barton (A) - Draw, AFC HAyes (A) - Win, Ashford (A) - Win, Rugby (H) - WIn, Aylesbury (A) - Draw, Chertsey (H) - Win Daventry Uxbridge (A) - Lose, Egham (A) - Win, St Ives (H) - Win, Leighton (A) - Win, Potters Bar (H) - Draw, AFC Hayes (A) - Draw, Royston (H) - Win, Kettering (A) - Lose, Chalfont (H) - Win Barton AFC Hayes (A) - Win, Slough (H) - Draw, Ashford (A) - Win, Marlow (H) - Draw, Aylesbury (A) - Draw, Egham (A) - Win, Chertsey (H) - Win, Rugby (A) - Draw, Northwood (H) - Lose Kettering Ashford (H) - Draw, St Ives (H) - Win, Aylesbury (H) - Win, Egham (A) - Draw, Dunstable (H) - Draw, AFC Hayes (H) - Win, Aylesbury Utd (A) - Win, Daventry (H) - Win, North Greenford (A) - Win If all of these are correct then the final table would look like this: 1) Dunstable 89 2) Daventry 87 3) Slough 85 4) Rugby 84 5) Barton 83 6) Kettering 82 Emphasises how tight the league is going to be. If anybody would like me to send them the Excel workbook that I am using please let me know. It will contain both sets of analysis

michaelSTFC
Call me an optimist, but I think we have a sneaking chance at the Title. We are in great form and have four very winnable games, with Rugby being the sternest test. I know I'd rather be facing Rugby at home than having to go to Kettering, as Dunstable have to. They also face Uxbridge, so are by no means guaranteed four wins. Daventry have a tough run in fraught with potential banana skins. I think it's safe to say if they win the league from this position, then they will have deserved it. My predictions:- DUNSTABLE: Kettering LOSE, AYLESBURY WIN, Leighton WIN, UXBRIDGE DRAW. SLOUGH Ashford WIN, RUGBY WIN, Aylesbury WIN, CHERTSEY WIN. RUGBY ST.IVES WIN, Slough LOSE, BARTON WIN, AFCHayes WIN. DAVENTRY Leighton WIN, POTTERS BAR WIN, AFCHayes WIN, ROYSTON LOSE, Kettering LOSE, Egham DRAW, CHALFONT WIN. 1. Slough 89, Dunstable 88, Daventry 85, Rugby 81. staines_rebel_Jr
Michael you have forgotten about Barton who still play Aylesbury egham (both away), Chertsey home, Rugby away and northwood home. win al those and they finish on
michaelSTFC
Yes, but even so, away to Egham and Rugby with the amount of goals in those teams will be tough. I suppose all we can do is aim to win every game and let the chips fall where they may...
3spirit
A touch of realism needed, I think, to the optimism of MichaelSTFC. While I would love Slough to win all their last 4 games and hope they do ! I think that each one of the teams we face have the ability to get a result against us,if our players under perform. As one of our joint managers said ' each game should be treated like a cup final '. Of late,Ashford have been playing well and have shocked higher up teams by beating them. Rugby are one of the best sides in this division. Aylesbury managed by our ex-manager and now, with many ex Slough players in their ranks. Also we're on their home turf, which if all their players are available, is going to a huge battle, unlike our home match against them. It's a pain having to play them now. Chertsey appears to be the easiest of the 4 games,Slough have to play,as Chertsey may be relegated by then and we may know what our fate is, at that point, too, but then again it could be that Chertsey can escape demotion by getting 3 points against us and we need to win. So I think we shouldn't take anything for granted !
Graham Cox
Thanks 3spirit for a sensible and realistic posting........................other teams may do this and may do that and lose unexpectedly etc but we want to focus on us and look for the four wins that will guarantee the play offs. No result is a certainty whether us or the fellow contenders but we are in form................ No doubt there will be considerable conversations about all this on Friday evening ! See you there
michaelSTFC
I'm not saying I expect us to win the Title, I can just see a chink of light there. Of course we are playing teams who on their day can beat us, I just look at our squad, our form and momentum and just have a belief that we can put ourselves in the position where others are worrying about us, when our rivals are travelling twice in a midweek and having to get results. If we don't get the Title, that's fine, but as has been said here before, none of the teams in the play-offs will want to play us.

Don Juan DeMarcus
I may be wrong. But I think even if we won all 4 games it wouldn't be enough...
3spirit
I may be wrong. But I think even if we won all 4 games it wouldn't be enough... You are wrong,DJM ! Kettering cannot catch us if we win all four. Thus we would make the play offs.

Don Juan DeMarcus
I was referring to winning the league. To make it a little more obvious I meant that if we win all our games I still feel that one of Dunstable or daventry (or probably both) would get more. Hopefully I'm wrong. If your predictions are correct, Daventry will finish with 89 points not 85 points... Slough and Daventry would be level and goal difference would decide it! Also, Rugby would have 86 points not 81 points...
