Royston Town (h) - Preview, Interview & Discussion

Excellent three points yesterday. Royston are a good side and the result was always in doubt until the final whistle. Unfortunately for them I think that ends their playoff hopes. For us, I think we showed great spirit to turn the game around and then see the game out. Warren Harris was exceptional and George Short made a real impact when he came on for Sintim, who I don't feel played well. I think Royston had the better of the midfield battle in the first half.

Interesting week ahead with both Daventry and Barton playing twice - Daventry in particular have tough looking away games at Egham and Uxbridge, who are in fantastic form. Points will be dropped all over the place - let's hope we don't. I think we should go to Barton on Thursday very confident in our own abilities.

Agree with Chris, a lot would need to happen. Too much realistically. Really we should be focusing on finishing in the top 5. December's results cost us - a couple more wins by this stage and I'd say we would be favourites to win the league on current form and with the squad we have.

Fair comments... Not come on here to have a row or anything, just interesting to see your viewpoint which is a bit negative really! I understand why but be nice to have some dreams still.

Shoot for the moon you may reach the stars or whatever that saying is... Just saying.

Good luck anyway, keep up the good work

Updated final projected league following the weekends results now sees us inside the playoffs by some distance as follows:

1) Dunstable 88

2) Daventry 88

3) Rugby 86

4) Barton 84

5) Slough 83

6) Kettering 77

7th is Northwood on 72 and so given they are over 10 points off I have dropped all pther teams

Unfortunately Woodsy8, we have been hurt too many times before 'shooting for the moon' attitude.

If we continue this form, I am happy for us as fans to continue to be 'negative' about our chances ;)

Fantastic 3 points in a very tight game. I reckon we edged it in the end. What more can be said about wazza? A massive player for this year and always stands up in the big games. I thought Wooz was immense as well.

It's a difficult trip but as many of us as possible need to get up to Barton on Thursday and make some noise. Thought we were a bit subdued on Saturday considering the good crowd, let's really get behind the team as we make the final push for promotion.

Agree Stuntman, I also thought the 'shed' were relatively subdued on Saturday considering the size of crowd and importance of the game.

Feel free to come and join us Eddie!

To be fair, a few of the louder ones were not there or on babysitting duty. I myself was a bit under the weather with a sore throat and was also off the beer! It was left pretty much to Marcus...
