Royston Town (h) - Preview, Interview & Discussion

Ground out a good result today against a lively Royston team. Dave Woozley was outstanding and gave a man of the match performance in his 150th game for the Rebels.Guy Hollis is back to his best.too.

Slough really missed Leigh Rumbold and struggled to get a grip in centre of midfield until the arrival of George Short, who was excellent when he came on.

Didn't think Dan Simtin looked as good in the middle as he does in defence. Early days I know but we really missed the work rate of Rummy.

Thought James Dobson looked promising and put in a sweet cross for Wazza's winner.Hope Scott Harris injury isn't too bad.

Next up,Barton !

Huge result. Missed half the game but well worth sticking it out for Somers save, wazza's goal and wooz's late challenge. One game at a time COYR

Great win today against a good Royston side.

We had to really dig in to get the points which will be needed in our remaining games if we are to reach the play-offs.

I thought most of our players did well but agree with 3spirit that today showed that we are really missing Rummy's work-rate and quality along-side Clurgy in midfield.

MOTM for me was Wazza with 2 excellent goals closely followed by Sommers with a quite superb save to keep us in front and Wooz for a sublime tackle that prevented a goal scoring opportunity for Royston.

Now just a small matter of Barton on Thursday.

COYR!!

It must also be noted that although Dunstable are back on top they only managed to attract a miserable 98 people through the gate.

I forgot to mention Warren Harris. The thing is you could mention him in nearly every game he plays,as he always gives his all.He is such an important player for us.

He is such an exciting player to watch and when he and Jake Parson's get fully fit,we'll have the two best right wingers in this division although lets hope they are testing themselves at a higher level next season with Slough !

Always felt at 1-1 another goal was there for the taking and at that point we looked the only likely winners although you never know as the game went on we were always going to vulnerable on the break

Great 2 goals from w Harris sticking them away after great work from teammates

Defence stood strong once we got in front and when they went missing Jake produced 1 of the best saves we have seen in recent seasons

Good win in a good game so three points in the quest !

Positives------obvious team spirit and determination and also great full back play from Sean and Ryan

Negative----big holes in midfield on occasions meaning second balls too often went the way of Royson

MOTM--tough to call but probably shared between those full backs

"Real" position for us now is in the play off positions !

Great comeback, the team showed real class yesterday coming from behind.  With all due respect to Leighton, it's a great sign that the team can come back from an early setback against the better teams in this league.

Warren's goals, particularly the first one, were very well taken and left the keeper stranded with their precision.  Thought the defence stood up well to most of what Royston had to throw at them, and you won't see a better save than the one made by Jake in the second half.  Absolutely stunning save when we all thought it was in.  I've been impressed too by the workrate of Dan Sintim in the midfield in the last two games.

Thursday is a massive game, and only time will tell what will happen in the other games this week too.  We can definitely still get into the playoffs, we are the league's top scorers with the joint best goal difference too, we just have to not let up against anyone.

COYR!
