dflman
Apparently an experimental formation to try things out. Losing 5-2 confirms it didn't work. Bloody cold down at the Coffin End whilst watching just two shots on goal in the second half
Chris1
Yes but we lost the second half 4-1 playing 4 at the back. I think conceding 5 goals and your goalkeeper is man of the match tells its own story.
marksandwell
What i don't understand is TB says he still needs 6-7 more players which he cannot get till close season, therefore why play around with winning format, with a team that will be different next year. I understand the need to put players on the pitch who have not played much, but surely you leave the positions alone.

No reason IMO to worry and as has been said "the scoreline flattered them", still work in prgress is an apt saying, its when the saying "SHOULD DO BETTER" I'll start worrying"
Tesco Bazza
Well TB non league alex ferguson more like non david moyes what shambles that was, you have us playing well only to mix it up and put on a performance like that. As for needing 6 or 7 new players for next year presumably these are players who are under contract until the end of the season. So the conveyor belt of players will remain at HDP. I'm with you cookie, that's the last time I take a day off work to watch an experiment. What was so wrong with the last few games if its not broke don't fix it. Eastside Urchin
Lol at you lot. You wait till he gets the players in that he wants. As irritating as this sounds, when he took over you was too far off to make the play offs so the next thing to ensure was premier safety , which was never in doubt. As a team ,the season should be wrote off but a manager will tinker around with things, try things that he wouldn't be able to do next season, and if it means you get smashed by an in form side like grays, he probably learns as much from that result as he would of they had won 5-0. He probably has 3/4 of his starting line up in place for next season and 4/5 other squad players who may be vying for a spot next season and he probably knows what players will fit in around all these and my guess is that you will be in the top 3/4 next season
Chris1
Oh well, that's alright then. And there was silly me being disappointed at getting thrashed 5-2.
Eastside Urchin
Not expecting you to be doing cartwheels but I really wouldn't get too wound up,grays have more to play for than you guys to beat the drop, which to be fair they look like they will comfortably. Your manager is about as experienced as they come with a cv to die for and he came mid season when you can only do so much with players coming in,yes he has made additions but in the summer when pretty much any player is available he will obviously get the team he believes will get you up

dflman
I was on buy 2 get 1 free so considered last night to be the free one which slightly alleviated the pain of seeing the side 'brushed aside' by an on form Grays team (despite their left back tendency to fall over for a free kick in front of a gullible lino as soon as he knew he was in danger of being mastered). margateshot
TB stated after the Met Police match that he would be changing things for the Grays match. He said he wanted to play 3 at the back and would be resting players allowing other players match time. He also stated in his post match interview that he took full responsibility for the loss. We will not get relegated, and so if we can experiment now we will be ahead of other teams next season. It doesn't matter at the end of the season if we finish 6th or 19th there are no prizes for either.
