Chris1
Regarding the ground, I seem to remember Mr Laslett saying work on the redevelopment would start in February. Obviously the weather was bad, and I was thinking that is why no work had commenced. However, in the paper it says the plans are being reconsidered, as Mr Laslett is not in favour of the hotel idea. That implies that new plans will have to be passed before any work starts. In other words, it won't happen for ages. Sorry if this is repeating something that has already been discussed, but can anyone clarify the situation: is it work to start soon or is it back to the drawing board? BlueGate Alan
I am sure this will be discussed at some length at Friday nights Fans Forum.
Tesco Bazza
Couldn't agree more why is there need for a hotel? I couldn't imagine it being very busy. Surely make the ground neat and tidy with four covered terraces, is good enough for the next 2 steps, with the potential to expand when we make the football league. This is also far cheaper, aswell as us not being tied to a hotel chain.I'm sure big bob would rather chuck more money at terry brown to get us there (league) than build a hotel. michael
was'nt the hotel originally essential to fund the development ? maybe there are now private funds available to fund a lower key development. that may make sense, as i was always surprised when it was so boldly announced in early december that it was all systems for an immediate go on the whole shooting match.just seemed slightly at odds with Mr Lasletts history at wolves where i believe he was against the build of their large stand(and he probably got that right ) waited 8 years,so 'whats another year' ?-albeit the portacabin dressing rooms may put some players off signing . only thing that annoys me is when the club said they would issue a further statement about the ground in mid december-we are still waiting- on the other hand of course-maybe there are no funds available to fund a development . prefer to comment on hard fact, not speculation/guesswork,and as posted above-maybe some of you will find out more tomorrow evening. Tesco Bazza
Portacabins putting players off signing! I think that would be the least of their worries after signing for the non league alex ferguson, a club with a football league vison and the kerching of their bank accounts. The ground doesn't have to stamford bridge to get in the league, just take a look at afc wimbledon (kingstonians)
michael
You may be right TB ,albeit maybe' those that really matter ' also think it makes a bit of sense to minimally have a bigger and better class of portacabin for dressing rooms .(possibly going to get soft toilet paper as well-thats really pampering the players )
