Daventry

Spoke to the ref after the game as we played an extra 5 mins 15 secs and he had told the players he was going to play 3 mins. He said that a booking in injury time and a substitution (guy) added a further minute to that. Their goal was 4 mins 15 or something like that so yes we can feel hard done by but we're not going to blame the officials as there were several things we could have done differently ourselves which would have prevented the goal.

Thought the lads gave us everything and felt we were worth a narrow 2-1 win in what was a tight game but sadly that wasn't to be. Absolutely gutted to be honest but we need to pick ourselves up and focus on winning next Saturday.

Support was outstanding today. Thank you all.

In the first half he played around 5 mins extra, and during the game he was constantly stopping his watch when the ball went dead, so at least he was consistent.

Asks the question should there be an official timekeeper for when there are stoppages like in rugby? - but that would be additional expense and would it make that much difference? - even at the top levels you still had Fergie time!

Surprised no one has mentioned how good all of our defence played yesterday.Thought Ryan Parsons was exceptional[man of the match for me closely followed by Wazza] and Dave Woozley's experience, showed big time and he led the line well. Sean Fraser and Dan Simtin both had fine games, too.

So somewhat surprised when Guy Hollis was brought on,so late in the game.Understand the rhetoric in shoring up a poor defence but not when he has been out injured for so long.I believe it was a Guy Hollis challenge[a free kick] that led to the events that brought Daventry's equalizer. Easy to be wise after the event,I know but always risky changing a winning team so late on.

Just gutted to concede in those final minutes, when Slough had played some wonderful football and deserved to be the victors in the match.

Definitely two points dropped,unfortunately.

Having said that, thought the Slough team were a credit to our joint managers ethos, in the way they performed against Daventry.Heartening to watch such entertaining passing football.

Still gutted after yesterday, more for the players and managers than anything else.  Their whole approach to the game and the effort they put in more than deserved the win.  It was a great performance by the whole team and I must say I was surprised with how poor Daventry seemed to be at the back for most of the game.  Jake didn't have much to do until the last ten minutes or so and even then we were not particularly troubled.  It's just unfortunate that the last one fell to one of their players.  We were great from back to front throughout, our defence were brilliant all round.

Just got to go again, one game at a time and see what happens really.

Disappointed as victory was within grasp but a great performance.

Cheering our goals was worth the 280 mile round trip!

Slough fans were in extremely fine voice, hardly heard a peep from the home fans.

Warren was injured so Guy came on at right midfield! Had to make the substitution !!

Fair enough,Neil !

I just thought you would have gone with Steve Duff on the left and put Jake P on right,as we seemed to be getting pinned in, in those final minutes and it looked like we needed to take the game to Daventry, rather than hang on to what we had.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Nothing says they wouldn't have scored even if you had done this. What a kick in the nuts, that last minute goal was, after the sublime football we had played.

Epic Rebel is right IMO,no way did Daventry deserve a draw.Luck just wasn't on our side in the end.

Into the 96th minute by my stop watch.

Still can't question the officials ;-)

That's what I put on the video, as when I was editing the highlights last night (Sunday) I couldn't find any match reports anywhere online with definite goal times, which is often the case....unless somebody can point me in the direction of where to look within a few hours of the match finishing ?

They are rarely put on Twitter when a goal is actually scored.

The first few minutes of the Second Half didn't record properly on my compact flash card recorder, so I just had to guess on the goal times going by what was being said unoficially by supporters....and quite a few seemed to be saying there was 7 minutes of Injury Time (so I went for 96 as the goal time).

Having now rewound the camera's tapes which I use as a backup, Unders' timings are correct.

Daventry's equaliser was scored after about 4 minutes of Injury Time and the Final whistle went after about 5 minutes and 15 seconds.
