Enfield Town v Harrow Borough

Tonight the QE2 Stadium stages a crucial, nail-biting, must-win match for George and our players. Harrow are in a relatively safe league position, but Town really do need the points to build on their recent revival. It should be quite a match!

To get everyone in the right frame of mind, here are a few very appropriate Sporting Quotes:-

If you do not believe you can do it you have no chance at all.
Arsene Wenger

A lot of football success is in the mind.
You must believe you are the best and then make sure you are.
Bill Shankly

Finally:-

" Don't give up; don't ever give up!"

Good luck tonight Town. Let's deliver!!

Fantastic result for the Town!!!

Congratulations and well done to George and our players.

Special mention and a BIG thank you to Noel Imber on the penalty save. 'He surely must be the Man of the Match'.

Well done everybody.

A thoroughly professional performance last night. Harrow did miss a superb chance just before the break, when Ozubu beat a few ET defenders, and with just Imber to beat, pushed the ball wide. That was only a few minutes after Imber was called into action for the first time in the half, saving a 25 yard shot on to the post. Up until then Imber would have been better off with a fork to help out repairing the pitch, with the first half action confined to the Harrow end.

After a shaky first couple of touches in the opening few minutes, Corey buckled down and showed he was worthy of a starting place with some excellent runs. A decent playing surface gave him (and Tyler when he came on) the chance to run at players.

Second half saw HB get more of the ball, with Town gradually defending deeper. A clumsy challenge by Doyle resulted in the penalty, after Town failed to clear their lines, but Noel saved brilliantly his right.

The whole team must be applauded for the hard work and dedication they are showing. Since our first clean sheet of the season against Cray Wanderers (our first game of 2014), there's been 3 more shut outs. Our home record for 2014 reads P 4, W 3, D 1, L 0, F 6, A 3: 10 pts from a possible 12. Still more hard work and hard games ahead, but let's hope there's some more points added to that total this time next week.

Match highlights are below...keep watching at the end...THE GREAT ESCAPE is on!!

I'm sure George and Barry would of brought the lads back down to earth and focused for Saturday's game back in the changing room. Play like this and like we have been doing for the rest of the season and i'm certain we'll pick up enough points to stay up.
