Mark44
So we are now down to 10 games left, another fine win on Saturday so though I would update my projected league table based on the analysis previously done. It is as follows: 1) Daventry 93 2) Rugby 89 3) Barton 86 4) Dunstable 85 5) Slough 79 6) Kettering 77 7) Royston 76 8) Northwood 73 9) Beaconsfield 70 with 3 lives in tact and our managers aim to get 7 wins in next 10 I believe we would comfortably be 4th/5th. Jon Underwood
I'm not sure "comfortable" is a word I would use but we remain confident we can do it! Still a lot of hard work ahead though. As everyone is aware we have some work to do in the next two weeks to bolster the squad for the run-in but we already have a number of potential targets in our sights who we believe have the necessary quality to give us every chance of achieving a top 5 finish. We will of course keep everyone up to date on the situation via the usual channels as soon as anything is confirmed.
Mark44
Apologies Jon, I guess the word comfortable can be perceived in many ways. In my mind you are comfortable if you are in the top 5 with 2 games left and need say 1 point to confirm it
Jon Underwood
We would take that scenario Mark! Great work on the stats, all very interesting stuff.
Curtis
Mark44, I've forgotten the basis of your calculations, but I would question Kettering finishing on 77 points, they currently have 50 points from 26 games, and I would be surprised if they don't pick up 30 more from their last 16 matches. Irishadrian
Curtis Its the fact that Kettering still have 16 to play that probably dooms them playing Tues Thurs Sat is almost impossible as we discovered last season But why are so many talking about us getting into the playoffs? That shouldn't be our aim If we are not champions ( still possible but unlikely) then we should be expecting to win the playoffs and finally get out of this wretched league. Irish, I would guess that people talk about getting into the play-offs first and then trying to win them once we've achieved that aim. No point in discussing winning the play-offs until we are 100% in them.
Mark44
It assumes a 0.07 decrease in remaining ppg for each 3 games played midweek mark
readingrebel
It assumes a 0.07 decrease in remaining ppg for each 3 games played midweek mark That explains that then
Mark44
Basically winning 42 is 3ppg. Winning 41 of 42 is 2.93ppg So assumes 1 loss in 3 for midweek games
Mark44
Following last nights results I have updated my calculations with the league now looking as follows: 1) Daventry 95 2) Rugby 87 3) Barton 85 4) Dunstable 85 5) Kettering 80 6) Slough 79 7) Royston 75 8) Northwood 72 9) Beaconsfield
lino
I still think its out of our hands and we rely on others to slip up.

Sue
I bet your really concerned Neil LOL. And Nigel YES he would be that stupid !
Curtis
Lino, I don't think we have to rely on slip ups from other teams at all..... if we manage to win seven of our last ten games we will be in the play-offs, six or less wins and we probably won't. It's completely in our hands!
Martin
Its funny how quick things can change, a couple of weeks ago I thought Rugby were away and clear and the title was theirs (on the basis the games would catch up with Daventry) but we now have a game in hand on them and play them at home and win both of those and we are within two points. Personally feel we can catch Dunstable and Rugby and that Kettering and Barton could catch all three of us. I've no idea how strong the Daventry squad is in terms of numbers but bear in mind we lost 5 games out of 6 at the start of April last year as we were in catch up mode and it is possible that all the teams will still bunch together. Going to be exciting, can only take one game at a time and really looking forward to Saturday COYR
Graham Cox
Always sounds a cliche when managers on TV talk about one game at a time............but isnt it true for us at present !
