Dirtyclaret
Truth be told, an awful game to watch, no great football played by either side, both seemed nervous and struggled to work out the bobble on the pitch. 1st half was very stop start no flow, which wasn't all down to the ref although it has to be said he wasn't great either, an early (correct) booking seemed to ruin his game abit. Bedford had 2 or 3 half chances blocked by last ditched tackles and a finger tip save from the gk. Crawley had one chance really that hit the post. The bedford number8's antics and petulance seemed to effect the whole team, however he's one of those players u love if he's on your team hate playing against him. 2nd was much the same, neither side really game out of the changing rooms. No real chances until crawley had yet another set piece that until this had all been awful. A bullet header from the centre half. The 2nd followed and was very similar. All we had to do was see it out. The crawley left bk was down with a head injury and when play wasn't stopped he got up and made pretty much his only mistake in the game bringing down the Bedford mdfer. And that changed the game. The momentum was with Bedford, we had 2 or 3 lads blowing, and they brought on 2 subs that made the difference in the end one of which scored the winner. Very disappointed. Hard to take positives from the game at the minute. A decent crowd for a Wednesday night with Champions league games on. A very good spread put on by the ladies at Langford. Neutral
What was the attendance? And I can't work out it you're praising the ref or not? Haha Well done for putting up a good fight, and playing your part in a great final.
Dirtyclaret
What was the attendance? And I can't work out it you're praising the ref or not? Haha Well done for putting up a good fight, and playing your part in a great final. Attendance not sure, 100 maybe more. With regards to the ref, he made a lot of poor calls throughout the game, simply easy ones like corners/throw ins etc. but it was the bookings and lack of consistency that frustrated both teams. Our cb got booked for shouting a perfectly reasonable question, no dissent or anger in his voice what so ever "wasn't the offside the first offence ref then the foul?". The not only 2mins later the Bedford cb was as clear as day heard shouting at the top of his voice "you are awful ref that's a joke!" The ref heard it and didn't even flinch. By rights the Bedford 8 (Rocco) should not have seen out the 1st half with his constant abuse of the ref. But like I said before, both sides were guilty of ruining the game a bit with some petulance but a stronger better ref was needed. However, the biggest decision he had to make was the pen and that he couldn't have got wrong clear as day pen. The game sort of summed up our season. Good but not good enough. Rhodes
DIVISION ONE Baldock Town v Chesham United Reserves A brief report on this one from another Forum: South Midlands League Division 1 BALDOCK TOWN 1-3 CHESHAM UNITED RESERVES Admission £5.00 Programme £1.00 CBC & C £4.70 Tea £1.00 Attendance 36 (about right) After gifting Baldock their opener which Chesham’s keeper could only help into the net, the visitors woke up, equalised within three minutes and took complete control of the second half to hand me my first Baldock defeat at the sixth game out of a projected ten. Something of a rarity at a Step Six game tonight – a vocal away support, albeit only five of them and they made their presence felt at times. Rhodes
DIVISION ONE Arlesey Town Reserves v Kings Langley A brief report on this abandonment from another Forum: Arlesey Town 0, Kings Langley 2 (or 3?) Attendance; 30 Game abandoned 67 minutes - FOG, right decision though. As this crazy season continues I get my first abandonment for fog in over 40 years! I've put the three in brackets for Kings Langley as the game was abandoned after their third goal and before they could restart the game. After all the local choices I had tonight, I have probably picked the only one that suffered this outcome!
Rhodes
BEDS SENIOR TROPHY FINALCrawley Green v Bedford (@ Langford FC) (Kick Off 7.30pm) A report on this one from another Forum Bedford 3-2 Crawley Green Beds Senior Trophy Final (played at Langford) Adm £5 Att 120 official, looked 150ish Nice burger £2-30, tea 80p My first cup final of the season, being a Felixstowe supporter I've got to get used to such things. At just under 100 miles, just about within my range for a midweek revisit. For the first 88 minutes it was ok, hard fought both sides had the odd chance, but as we walked towards the exit with Crawley green 2 up we never envisaged what was about to happen. Bedford scored what appeared to be a consolation on 88 mins, then 2 mins later got an equaliser, as myself and AndyFTM were contemplating ET, they only went and scored another. An incredible finish that will live long in the memory, not that much stays in my memory these days, had no recollection of this nice ground. Dirtyclaret
I must say over the years playing against them I hated them but have grown to appreciate what they've done, particularly staying in business. For a time it looked like folding etc the changing rooms and long distance walk to the pitch is still awful but dispute that Rocco and his staff have managed to attract a good stable squad and if promoted I'm sure they will go from strength to strength
Neutral
Long distance walk? Not really! If they could get a clubhouse to match the quality of their pitch! Hopefully they can get a brick club house built
Dirtyclaret
Changing room to pitch is a good walk. Atleast a couple of minutes. Not as bad as Stoney though.

Dirtyclaret
No, that's not McMullen Park, I think you've got the wrong ground: http://www.flickr.com/photos/localbusdriver/5520674598/in/photostream/ No. I have got the correct ground. Have played there best part of 10years. As a player u walk out the changing rooms down the steps and turn left past the back of the club house with the view of Bedford towns pitch on your right then come out into the fenced 'walk way down the pitch.
