We had a discussion about George behind the goal yesterday. Personally I like him as a player although I think some of the others around me are not such fans. I wouldn't have him as my motm for yesterday as I think he was outshone by rummy but he didn't have a bad game. I agree he can struggle with the pace of the game at times but his passing is excellent and he is a more than capable back up for the centre mid positions. Having said that my concern is when rummy leaves where's the dynamism coming from in that area. Ollie gave us that and now Leigh does but

I struggle to see Jamie or George playing that role.

I agree,Radders aithough I think Jamie McClurg is under rated by many. At this level, he should be one of the first players named in the first 11, as he is a good fit to the way Bakes and Unders want Slough to play.
 
What's been so good with Leigh Rumbold is the energy and enthusiasm he has,which has complemented Jamie McClurg's game so well.Leigh has been a great signing and he is going to be missed big time when he leaves.

 

His leaving has come very much at the wrong time of the season for us and his position is going to take time to fill.Time we really haven't got left this season !

Yeah fan of McClurg as well although I think he went through a bad patch round the turn of the year he has been excellent throughout the rest of the campaign and his simple passing and high energy style of play certainly suits the bunderwood gameplan.

Looks like Wheeler has been released.  Given what has been said, all I can say is that we will be better off without him.  If he is not committed to the cause 100% we do not want him in the squad.  He cannot just throw a strop because he actually has some competition in his position, and if this is not the first time there has been trouble from him, I can see why the managers have made this call.  He can be an excellent player but not for long enough in games.

 

On the topic of the game, it doesn't matter how we won, we just needed to get back to winning ways.  It wasn't pretty but we were the better side and played reasonably well.  It was important to do so with some tough games coming up starting with Daventry next week.

O my god, someone has SLIGHTLY criticised George Shorts performance and he's in the wrong. What your meant to say 3spirit is that he was absolutely superb and was faultless!!!

As I hope George Short or any player won't.

 

I do,however,think Barry is right. It does get absurd when you can't put an opinion on football related matters onto our football forum. 

 

Rebel Sue is a stalwart of the club and obviously get's close to the players.She is fiercely loyal to the club and who wouldn't applaud that.

 

I do think,however,at times she over reacts to the least bit of objective postings put on certain threads about players,coaches,managers or anyone with status within Slough Town FC.

Which to me is plain daft but as she's a woman,I make allowances ! ha ha ha !

well on a positive note, the forum has been really busy over the last week, and has provided plenty of info, opinions, and that is what a forum is for:

It has been a good last couple of months for us, we are top of the form guide from last 8 games, with 7 wins and one defeat, and within that have scored 23 goals...
