Hx 2 Thamesmead 0

cup of tea

Important result bearing in mind some of the results around us, particularly Lowestoft.

Not the most attractive football but we got the job done today, loads of effort around the pitch.

Thamesmead had their moments, they hit the woodwork and there was a good goal line clearance from Michael Spencer.

We all tend to blame the ref when things don't go our way but the officials did seem on occasions to take their lead from the Thamesmead players calls, but we got the win so not bothered today.

I would say that overall we deserved the result.

AFC Hornchurch 2 Thamesmead Town 0

A welcome three points, but that said a disappointing second half performance. A better opposition team would have made us pay. Man of the match had to be Tambeson Eyong, was playing like a man possessed.

I think that Wealdstone have got to be odds on favourites to win the league now, I reckon it's then 4 from 7 for the playoff spots (Hendon looked a decent side to me and still could get up there) including us, so the fact we're still very much in the hunt after an indifferent month is encouraging.

Tambeson totally bossed today's game. Was everywhere.

Very important win today and pleased that we got all the points.

Wealdstone do look the favourites to win the league but they have still got to win their games in hand, and as we all know, anything can happen in this league.

We are still up there and if we continue to win games and the teams above drop the points there could soon be new favourites!

A very much needed win,Tam and Rooky really playing their part.

Don't think we're going to get many free flowing games due to our surface, but when players really put a shift like yesterday we will be a match for most teams.

I must say although George and Steph have scored crackers and won games almost single handily,Carl Rook is much more of a team player. He brings the midfield into play and I feel we look a much better balanced side..

So chuffed at how well we do with the crowds we draw, nearly 800 at Dulwich yesterday.

Imagine what we could accomplish with those attendances.

And they still lost.

It's been a topsy turvy season and still more to come.

And when we reach the play-offs the glory seekers will return.
