Jeff Trice
Sorry to report that 1969/70 and 1970/71 Margate striker Johnny Ray is very ill at the moment and his son Peter asked me to share the news. I'm sure all Margate supporters would wish Johnny all the best and let's hope he pulls through. Peter has said "It would be good to hear from fans, any memories of Dad, (good and bad) I can then pass them onto Dad, spending as much time with him as I can, its good to give things to think about!" Johnny's page on my site can be found at http://www.margatefchistory.com/johnnyray.shtml and contains a link to the player questionnaire he completed just a few months ago. zorba
Johnny Ray was a fine striker during a golden age for Margate FC. Exciting to watch and a devil in the penalty box to all defenders. His great goals at HDP provided me with some wonderful memories of MFC past. Wish him well and just a thank you on behalf of the many supporters who enjoyed watching him during those halcyon days. Top footballer.
