Egham (h) - 4th March

Recommended Posts

And some people on here wonder why some fans were disappointed with the standard of refereeing and calling for the ref to show a few more cards???

Spot on Curtis. Maybe I and others wouldn't have been so angered by smiths yellow had he been consistent with all other similar and worse tackles.

At the end of the day whatever the result, our performance, etc, I can't see how anyone can argue that the ref was useless (the phantom offside, the blatantly obvious incorrect throw ins, the last warnings for 4-5 fouls to be followed by another last warning 2 minutes later). If we'd won the game 5-0 I would still have come on here and criticised his performance as it was that bad.

Radders, although I still maintain the yellow for Ed was spot on I agree the referee wasn't great. My issue was that our fans' reaction to that was entirely disproportionate. Some of the language and the aggression was over the top in my view, passionate game or not.

Ha ha I get enough of the kitchen jokes at home thank you !

He thinks I know nothing about football as well LOL

Don't ever let anyone tell you that Sue, you even spotted that the Ref didn't know what the advantage rule was!  quite amazing lol

Has anybody seen Ed Smith's challenge on the extended (MyFC/Vimeo) highlights yet ?

Particularly on the slow-motion replay.  :o

I heard Unders say at the time 'He's Off', although I don't think the camera mic picks it up. We had a perfect view from the dugouts (and above in my case). Ed was well lucky the Ref had the same view as most of the supporters. He was probably only booked because of the Egham players' reaction.

I didn't put the incident on the 'free-to-view' 5 minute highlights...just in case !

To be honest..... The fans were probably more angry because we have had the worst luck with refs this season and the ref on Tuesday made so many mistakes u can not say he was ok! That's silly he didn't lose the game for us but he certainly did not help! Calling for players to go off is part of the game both sets of fans in Any football game does it (if they have fans) so getting knickers in a twist about is not worth your time! The fact is we lost we move forward I still believe this team will make play offs!!!! I personally think we play at times some of the best football I've seen from slough in years and hopefully Adam foulser won't be injured for long!

Just to give you an update on Foulser, he has booked a scan for next Thursday, however at the moment he has swelling all round his knee, and is unable to bend it properly, this obviously affects him as he is a self employed plumber!!!

Obviously we are hopeful it is not too bad, but the early signs are not great!!!

Fingers crossed, as he is not only one of the nicest guys I have come across in football, he is a top player, who wears his heart on his sleeve and is a born winner.

I said to him yesterday that if it is the end of his season, he will come back even stronger!!

Ah bless, some little treasures on here need to be careful that their haloes dont strangle them.

Think a lot us were calling for Kyle to get a red card the other week, so that happens rightly or wrongly.

I usually agree with Ian but think I am more with Radders this time. (dont mean the swearing). The ref let a lot go, I know for a fact that I came away really angry from a game for the first time in ages, especially after the injury to Adam.

Yes maybe we do get a little hot headed but I also think its because of the passion we have for Slough, a lot of these hot heads have get the club going in some really difficult times in the past.

I think its time we move on now to Saturday's game and hope we have a much more pleasant day.

I would like to wish Adam Foulser all the best with his injury. He has been top drawer since he arrived at Slough and is well deserving of the position of skipper in our team and has become one of my favourite players in the current squad.

What is it with Slough Town? Has someone put a curse on our play-off ambitions, regarding centre halves,A few season's back we had Graeme Edwards,a very promising defender, who looked like he would go on to play at higher level, only to befall a career ending injury.

We lost Nathan Bowden Howes at a crucial time, when he buggered off to Australia and left a huge gap to fill,to which we never recovered and thus failed to gain promotion.

This season we've been without Guy Hollis [Adam has also out for a few games prior to that] and now we face this hammer blow with this latest injury to Adam, when we need him most.

What with the ground? You couldn't write the script !

Bloody marvellous,isn't it,NOT !

Hope Adam doesn't mind corny jokes but as Adam's a plumber is he suffering from water on the knee?.With our pipe dreams disappearing fast and the season looking like it might go down the drain. Toilet humour is the only thing that brings a smile. Get WELL soon!

I'd be interested to hear what other clubs think of our support. The impression I get is that we have an awful reputation these days amongst clubs in our division which in turn works massively against us as people want to put one over on us.

I think we need to get back to focusing on getting behind the team, especially when things are going wrong. We're very quick to moan and slow to support.

I tend to agree GarySTFC, people shouting "cheat, cheat, cheat" at the ref as he came

off on Tuesday doesnt help either. We all get involved and want Slough to win

but moronic behaviour does us no favours.

I was the moron who started the "cheat cheat cheat" at the end of the match and even two days later I still stand by it, I would also point out that when the team play badly I am one of the few who always stay behind them with shouts of encouragement, can you all say that? anyway thats my rant take it or leave it. COYR.

Sorry FR, but the ref didn't cheat. No official goes out to cheat or actively favour one side or the other. They may not have a good game and get some decisions wrong, granted, but not a cheat. It was interesting viewing from next to the tunnel entrance and easy to see why the club have had to take steps in the past to secure and cover that area. People foaming at the mouth trying to find a small gap to get their "cheats" and "insert expletive here" into the cage. Personally I think it is embarrassing and reflects extremely poorly on the club.

Sorry Gary don't agree with all that! When a ref/Lino gives all the right calls to one team and all the wrong calls to another that's favoring one team!!! FR is far from moronic and I can agree with some go too far but I do not think it's as big a deal as you lot are making it out to be!

Warren that is bloody ridiculous I can tell you that nine times out of ten when we lose you all you hear is mutterings of what we should of done and what we shouldn't of done BUT now and again you get games like Tuesday when you feel the ref didn't help and the hot head comes out.

This is getting stupid now I am going to sit in the stand on Saturday and shout jolley hockey sticks much more fun. We do have good fans and yes sometimes they do get OTT but we can't be angels all the time

And Yes you do have a big gob !!

I actually thought the team was supported throughout the last game quite well despite being outplayed by a team with no real play off ambitions... There were positive chants throughout the second half...
