Unfortunately I already have plans tonight so can't make it. Played against another old SSML'er on Sunday (I think it was him anyway?), Mick Swaysland.

Tuesday 4th March

LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY QUARTER FINAL

5-0 Hoddesdon Town v Winslow United

Hoddesdon were superb last night and well worth their win, scoring some cracking goals along the way. They are a very good side, the number 3 for them was a superb player, they looked every bit a Premier side and were easily the best side we have faced this season by a long way. They were a great measuring stick for ourselves last night to see where we need to be to go up and be able to progress.

Harefield United v Hanwell Town was what they call a game of two halves.

Must just what a good pitch Harefield United FC have.

Hanwell were the better team in the first half and Harefield were the better team in the second half.

I was happy with the point.

LEAGUE CHALLENGE TROPHY QUARTER FINAL

5-0 Hoddesdon Town v Winslow United

A report from another Forum:

SSMFL Challenge Trophy Quarter Final

Hoddesdon Town 5-0 Winslow United

Admission £6

Attendance 40ish

Programme £2 excellent

Clubhouse shut until HT bottle of bud and a Malibu and coke "fiver for cash"

Pre match beers in the decent Golden Lion (sheff wed picture above the bar) by the shell garage 5 mins walk away where a chunky blonde barmaid awaited us with a love smile and a ring through her nostril that reminded me of a farmers bull 7/10

Mrs SH joined me for a day out so I was on my best behaviour throughout the day. We boarded the train at Worthing with St Margaretsbury v Tring in mind but that soon fell so it was Hoddesdon with Sun Postal as a back up.

Enjoyable ground and friendly club although the bar didn't open until HT!

2 world class goals and some incredible shocking marking in the first half put the hosts in command.

Second half Hoddesdon continued with yet another cracking finish from 20 yards into the top corner. Then to cap things off and to make it 5 Hoddesdon scored a direct goal straight from a corner kick (that's 2 goals direct from a corner in the last week after Guisborough scored one on the hop).
